Born 22 August 1794 at Coventry, Tolland County, Connecticut (of predominantly French ancestry).  Died .  Moved from Monroe to Luzern County, Pennsylania.  Resided at Huntington Mills on Huntington Creek (near Shickshinney), Pennsylvania.

 

2. Wife: Margaret LaBar

 

Born 13 February 1803 in New England (of predominantly French ancestry), daughter of George and Sarah (Jayne) LaBar.  Died 1895; interred Pine Grove Cemetery, Harveyville, Pennsylvania.  Married Septimus Bacon on 7 June 1818 in Middle Smithfield Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania.

b. Sarah Jayne Bacon: Born 11 December 1821.  Died 16 December 1890.  Married Richard Moss.

 

c. Rollin Shepherd Bacon: Born 24 January 1823.  Died 19 July 1904; interred Frenchtown Cemetery.  Married Mary Ann Huff (more info) (b. 18 Nov 1835 on the Fowler farm at Liberty Corners, Bradford, Co., PA, d. 23 Aug 1906 at home in Asylum, Bradford Co.), daughter of Abraham and Annetta (?) Huff (who also had 3 sons and 2 daughters), on 19 June 1854 and had the following children: (order uncertain)

 

(1. Festus C. Bacon: Born 19 July 1855.  Died 14 August 1925; interred Frenchtown Cemetery.  Resided at Sayre, Bradford County, Pennsylvania.  Married Margaret “Maggie” Hoover (b. 22 Jan 1854, d. 17 Oct 1898) and, when first married, resided in the large, old (in 1848) house by the brook west of the Gorden Cemetery (“old cemetery”) in Asylum.  Festus and Margaret had the following children: (order uncertain)

 

(a. Nellie Bacon.

 

(b. Mame Bacon.

 

(c. Bertha Bacon: Brought up by Mary Hoover (“Aunt Mae”), probably the sister of her mother, Margaret (Hoover) Bacon.  Married (?) Russell and had the following son:

 

(1) Hanford G. Russell: Born 1900.  Died 1976, age 75.  In 1953 Hanford resided at Binghampton, Broome County, New York.  Married, as her 1st husband, Isabelle Adams (b. abt 1905) and had the following children:

 

(a) Dawn Russell: Thought to have settled near Ithaca, Cayuga County, New York.

 

(b) Valerie Russell: Resided at Binghampton, Broome County, New York.

 

(c) Dale Russell: Resided in Tioga Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania.

 

Following Hanford’s death, Isabelle (Adams) Russell married (2nd) Clifton Chamberlain in June 1980 and resided on Peace Creek Road, Tioga Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania.

 

(2. Oscar Bacon: Born 9 December 1857.  Died 18 (?), 1863.

 

(2. DeWitt C. Bacon: Remembered by Clara (Irvine) Coles as having one of the first automobiles in their neighborhood (Homets Ferry/Asylum); it was red in color.  Later resided at Sayre, Bradford County, Pennsylvania.

 

(4. Annetta Bacon: Born 23 September 1861.  Died 30 July 1870.

 

(3. Victor V. Bacon, MD: Resided at Michigan City, Indiana.

 

(4. Flora B. Bacon: Married (?) McNitt and resided at Ann Arbor, Michigan.

 

(5. Leonora Bacon: Never married.

 

d. Loretta Delusia Bacon: Born 16 February 1826.  Died 188_.  Married Shubal Bowman at Terrytown, Pennsylania.

 

e. Mary Ann Bacon: Born 26/28 December 1828 at Huntington, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.  Moved to Bradford County, Pennsylvania in 1844.  Married Reuben Frutchey (b. Northamton Co., PA), son of William Wilhelm and Sarah (Smith) Frutchey, on 5 February 1847.  Reuben moved from Northampton County to Terrytown, Pennyslvania about 1845; he was employed as a farmer at New Era.  He and Mary Ann had 7 children, the following 6 of whom lived to be adults:

 

(1. Frances Frutchey.

 

(2. Heber Frutchey.

 

(3. Philemon Frutchey.

 

(4. Edward E. Frutchey.

 

(5. Joseph Frutchey.

 

(6. Lesley Frutchey.

 

f. Susan Leacock Bacon: Born 16 December 1830.  Married (1st) John Horton (d. 1861).  Married (2nd) William Koons (d. 1895).

 

g. Bethia Harvey Bacon: Born 10 September 1833.  Died 10 December 1910.  Married Alfred H. Boston (b. 11 Feb 1833).

 

h. Theodore Fisk Bacon: Born 7 May 1841.  Died as an infant.

 

i. Henry Clinton Bacon: Born 27 May 1843.  Died 10 August 1916.  Married Hannah Wagener in 1870.  Hannah graduated from Jefferson Medical College in 1868.

 

2   Marietta Bacon:

 

Born 31 July 1820 in Monroe County, Pennsylvania.  Died 15 February 1875.  Married Moses Eilenberger, generation 2 of the Eilenberger Annex on 20 October 1839.
