Origin of the surname “Beebe:”

Generation

8

7   (?) Beebe

Probably descended from the Beebe immigrants to North America, who settled in New London County, Connecticut.  Some suggest this is Timothy Beebe (father unknown), who, with Patty Brown (b. 10 Sep 1756 in Rutland, MA, d. 13 May 1825 near Evans Mills, LeRay Twp, Jefferson Co., NY; interred Old Evans Mills Cem.), daughter of Gideon (b. 1725) and Deborah (Parmeter) Brown, had Fortanatus Beebe before she married Enos Hudson (b. 15 Jan 1759 in Oakham, MA) and had 7 children.  Others suggest this is Zacharius Beebe, Jr. (descended from John Beebe, III and Abigal Yorke), who married Lurannah Mack and had son Fortunatus Beebe.
