1850 US Census: Sydney Brown, age 49 (b. MA) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household in Scott Township, Cortland County, New York.  The household also included Lovinia Brown, age 50 (b. RI); Hannah Salisbury, age 73 (b. RI); Albert Brown, age 23 (b. NY) and employed as a farmer; Amos Brown, age 21 (b. NY) and employed as a farmer; Cephas Brown, age 19 (b. NY) and employed as a farmer; Lorana Brown, age 17 (b. NY); Julius Brown, age 15 (b. NY) and employed as a farmer; and Otis Brown, age 13.

Young on 6 September 1855 at Lake Mills, Lake Mills Township, Jefferson County, Wisconsin and had the following children:

 

(a. Mary H. Brown: Born 1856.  Died before 1870.

 

(b. Ellen E. Brown: Born 1 April 1858 in Easton Township, Adams County, Wisconsin.  Died there before 1870; interred there in Easton Cemetery.

(d. Anna S. Brown: Born May 1862 in Easton Township, Adams County, Wisconsin.  Died young.

 

(e. Lorana Estella Brown: Born 28 November 1863 in Easton Township, Adams County, Wisconsin.  Married Wilson D. Eddy on 27 June 1881 in Jefferson County, Wisconsin.

 

(f. Edwin Amos/Albertus Brown: Born 3 March 1866 in Easton Township, Adams County, Wisconsin.  Married Margaret Buchanan on 24 September 1893 and had 4 children.

 

(g. Jesse S. Brown: Born 10 June 1868 in Easton Township, Adams County, Wisconsin.  Died young; interred there in Easton Cemetery.

 

(h. Francis Amos Brown (also seen: Amos Brown, Jr.): born 26 May 1870.  Died there 28 November 1884, age 14 years, 7 months, 1 days, from complications of diptheria; interred there in Easton Cemetery.

(a. Ivan Julius Brown: Born 5 November 1857.

 

(b. Otis Eugene Brown: Born 13 October 1860.

 

(6. Otis Eugene Brown: Born 6 May 1837 in Scott Township, Cortland County, New York.  Died ; interred beside his father in Easton Cemetery, Easton Township, Adams County, Wisconsin.

 

1850 US Census: Otis, age 13, resided with his parents.

 

4   Cephas Brown:

 

Born 2 November 1830 in Scott Township, Cortland County, New York.  Died 9 June 1864 as a POW in the Andersonville, Georgia Confederate prison during the US Civil War; interred there in grave k1762.  Married (1st) Harriet A. Blood (d. 6 Dec 1854 in Easton Twp, Adams Co., WI; interred there in Easton Cem.) on 7 March 1854 in Scott Township.  Married (2nd), as her 2nd husband, his neighbor, widow Lydia Margaret (Becker) Spencer, paragraph 3.b.(4.(f. of generation 4 of the Van Patten Annex, on 30/13 May 1858 in Adams County, Wisconsin.
