* Note: The grandfather-grandson relationship shown here
between this John Biles (father of Henry Biles) and either William Biles
or Charles Biles of Bucks County, Pennsylvania
is not proven. However, this
relationship does appear likely given (1) both Henry and William/Charles
lived in Bucks County, Pennsylvania at the same time, when other, unrelated Biles/Byles families in that
region were few or nonexistent, (2) Henry’s son, Alexander Patterson Biles, verbally related to his grandson, John
Addison Biles (family historian) that his
(Alexander’s) paternal grandfather was named John Biles,
and (3) John and Alexander are names that would likely be assigned to ancestors
of both William and Charles Biles.
