1900 US Census: General Donaldson, age 37 (b. Jun 1862 in GA; parents b. GA) and employed as a farm laborer, was heading a household at Mount Ida, Bradleyton Township, Crenshaw County, Alabama.  The household also included his wife of 7 years, Solemni Donaldson, age 25 (b. Apr 1875 in AL; birth of parents not recorded), who had had 4 children, all still alive; daughter, Ida L. Donaldson, age 16 (b. Apr 1884 in AL) and single; son, Chas Donaldson, age 13 (b. Nov 1886 in AL) and employed as farm laborer; daughter, Della Donaldson, age 11 (b. Dec 1888 in AL); daughter, Willie Donaldson, age 6 (b. May 1894 in AL); daughter, Lula Donaldson, age 4 (b. 1930 US Census: Charlie Donaldson, age 27 (b. AL; parents b. AL) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household on Enterprise Road in Elba Township, Coffee County, Alabama.  He married 1st at age 22.  The household also included his wife, Bonnie Donaldson, age 22 (b. AL; parents b. AL) and employed as a farm laborer, who was married 1st at age 17; son, Charlie Donaldson, Jr., age 4 years and 6 months (b. AL); and son, Ellis Donaldson, age 2 years and 5 months (b. AL).

 

1940 US Census: Charlie Donaldson, age 36 (b. AL) and employed as a farm operator, was heading a household in Election District 7 of Coffee County, Alabama.  He had completed 4th grade and resided in the same area in April 1935.  The household also included his wife, Bonnie Donaldson, age 32 (b. AL), who had completed 5th grade; son, Charlie Donaldson, Jr., age 15 (b. AL), who had completed 4th grade and was employed as a farm laborer; son, Ellis Donaldson, age 12 (b.
