Ireland) and employed as a laborer, was heading a household in Hounsfield Township, Jefferson County, New York.  The household also included his wife, Martha Fields, age 36 (b. Ireland); son, Joseph Fields, age 15 (b. Ireland) and employed as a laborer; daughter, Isabella Fields, age 9 (b. Ireland); son, John Field, age 7 (b. NYS); and son, James Field, age 4 (b. NYS).

f. Charles M. Fields: (more info) Born 11 April 1878 at North Adams, Jefferson County, New York.  Died 7 January 1960, age 81, at the House of the Good Samaritan Hospital, Watertown, Jefferson County; interred North Watertown Cemetery.  Attended local schools and became a salesman for Weldon & Weldon Feed Company (later the Weldon Coal Company) of Watertown, Jefferson County, New York.  Married Lillian M. Brown (b. 1878, d. May 1941) of Watertown on 15 August 1924 at Sackets Harbor, Jefferson County and settled on a farm near Watertown (RD #1).  Charles and Lillian had the following son:

1900 US Census: Jay Fields, age 29 (b. Feb 1871 in NYS; father b. NYS; mother b. England) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household in The Village of Sackets Harbor, Hounsfield Township, Jefferson County, New York.  The household also included his wife of 3 years, Etha Fields, age 28 (b. Dec 1872 in NYS; parents b. NYS), who had had no children; and servant, Wm Mctyre, age 32 (b. Jun 1867 in NYS; parents b. NYS), single, and employed as a day laborer.

 

1905 NYS Census: Jay W. Fields, age 35 (b. US), was heading a household in Pamelia Township, Jefferson County, New York.  The household also included his wife, Ethal N. Fields, age 32 (b. US); and son, Walter J. Fields, age 4 (b. US).

 

1910 US Census: Jay Fields, age 40 (b. NYS) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household in Pamelia Township, Jefferson County, New York.  He had been married once.  The household also included his wife of 13 years, Ethel A. Fields, age 38 (b. NYS), who had  had 2 children, both still alive; son, Walter J. Fields, age 9 (b. NYS); daughter, Hetty A. Fields, age 3 (b. NYS); and sister-in-law, Libby M. Wells, age 42 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS) and single, with no occupation recorded.

 

1915 NYS Census: Jay W. Fields, age 45, was heading a household in Pamelia Township, Jefferson County, New York.

 

1920 US Census: Jay W. Fields, age 49 (b. NYS) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household in Pamelia Township, Jefferson County, New York.  The household also included his wife, Ethel E. Fields, age 46 (b. NYS); daughter, Hetty A. Fields, age 13 (b. NYS); and son, Walter J. Fields, age 19 (b. NYS), single, and employed as a farm laborer.

 

1925 NYS Census: Jay W. Fields, age 54, was heading a household in Pamelia Township, Jefferson County, New York.

 

1930 US Census: Jay W. Fields, age 60 (b. NYS; father b. NYS; mother b. England) and employed as a dairy farmer, was heading a household in Pamelia Township, Jefferson County, New York.  His residence was valued at $2,500.  The household also included his wife, Ethel A. Fields, age 57 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS); and daughter, Hetty A. Fields, age 23 (b. NYS) and single.

1940 US Census: Ethel A. Fields, age 66 (b. NYS), widowed, and employed housekeeping, was heading a household on Cross Road Landing off Ogdensburg Road in Pamelia Township, Jefferson County, New York.  She had completed 4 years of high school and in April 1935 resided in the same place (as did Roger and Hettie).  The household also included her son-in-law, Roger B. Allison, age 31 (b. NYS) and employed as a teacher, who had completed 1 year of college; daughter, Herry A. Allison, age 33 (b. NYS), who had completed 4 years of high school; and hired man, Theodore Segovis, age 28 (b. NYS), single, and employed as a farmer, who had completed 8th grade and in April 1935 resided in St. Lawrence County.

b. Hetty A. Fields: (more info) Born 4 December 1906.  Died Wednesday, 22 August 1956, age 49, from a cerebral hemorrhage caused by an accidental fall from a loaded hay wagon on the Dewey Countryman farm, 1 mile south of Pamelia Four Corners.  Graduated from Brownville High School, Brownville, Jefferson County, New York, attended the Teacher Training School at nearby Dexter, and graduated from Oswego Normal School, Oswego, Oswego County, New York.

 

1925 NYS Census: Roger Allison, age 16, resided with his parents in Brownville Township, Jefferson County, New York.

 

1930 US Census: Roger B. Allison, age 21 (b. NYS), single, and not employed, resided with his parents and others in Hounsfield Township, Jefferson County, New York.

 

Hetty Fields married Roger B. Allison (b. 7 Sep 1908, d. 27 May 1988; interred Sanford Corners Cem., Calcium, LeRay Twp, Jefferson Co., NY), son of William and Olive "Bessie" R. (Anderson) Allison, on 28 June 1933 at Star Lake, New York and resided in Pamelia Township (on the military highway between Routes 37 and 11), Jefferson County, New York.  Roger and Hetty had the following daughter:

Born 27 September 1900 in Hounsfield Township, Jefferson County, New York.  Died Monday, 21 September 1964, age 63; interred Sanford Corners Cemetery, Calcium Township, Jefferson County.  Moved with his parents to Pamelia Township when he was a youth.  Graduated from Brownville-Glen Park High School in 1919.  Subsequently attended Potsdam Normal School and taught school at Pamelia Center for 7 years.  Moved to Evans Mills in November 1926, where he operated a farm on Bush Road.

 

1930 US Census: Walter J. Fields, age 29 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS) and employed as a dairy farmer, was heading a household in Pamelia Township, Jefferson County, New York.  His residence was valued at $2,000.  The household also included his wife, Ruth M. Fields, age 29 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS).  They both married 1st at age 26.

 

1940 US Census: Walter J. Fields, age 39 (b. NYS) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household in Pamelia Township, Jefferson County, New York.  He had completed 4 years of high school, and he resided in the same house in April 1935.  The household also included his wife, Ruth M. Fields, age 39 (b. NYS), who had completed 4 years of high school; son, Frederick J. Fields, age 9 (b. NYS); son, George S. Fields, age 5 (b. NYS); daughter, Louise E. Fields, age 3 (b. NYS); and sister-in-law, Blanche A. Ward, age 31 (b. NYS), who had completed 4 years of high school and resided in the same house in April 1935.

Born 4 April 1901 in Pamelia Township, daughter of Clarence Stewart/Stuart  (more info)and Louise Sarah (Harter) Ward (who also had the following children: Wayne A. Ward (more info) of Watertown; Roy A. Ward of Corfu, N.Y.; Blanche Ward; Edna May Ward, who married Walter Hutchins and resided at Virginia Beach, VA; and Ethel Ward, who married Harold Johnson and resided at Monsey, N.Y. (and had daughter Susan E. Johnson, who married (?) Devlin).  Ruth died at home Wednesday, 30 April 1975, age 74; interred Sanford Corners Cemetery, Calcium.  She graduated from Potsdam Norman School in 1923 and taught in Evans Mills area schools.  Ruth married Walter J. Fields on 5 April 1926 in the parsonage of the First Methodist-Episcopal Church, Watertown, Jefferson County, New York with Reverend Albert R. Lambert officiating.  In 1967, following Walter’s death (1964), Ruth moved to Watertown, where she was a Meals on Wheels volunteer at Mercy Hospital.

Louise Ethel Fields: (more info) Born 2 December 1936 in New York.  Died 27 November 2012; interred Sanford Corners Cemetery, Calcium, LeRay Township, Jefferson County, New York.  Graduated 1954 from Evans Mills High School, Evans Mills, Jefferson County, New York and from the Watertown School of Commerce in 1955.  Subsequently employed by the General Motors Acceptance Corporation.  Married Ora Phillips Ball, Jr. (b. 1937, d. ), son of Ora Phillips and Jennie (?) Ball of 659 Emerson Street, Watertown, Jefferson County, New York, in 1956 at Bethany Methodist Church, Watertown.  Ora graduated from Watertown High School in 1955, and while Ora was in the U.S. Navy stationed at Newport, Rhode Island, Louise attended storekeeper school.  They subsequently resided in New York.
