Born about 1854 in Canada.  Died 1918 in Jefferson County, New York.  Employed as a farmer at Sacket's Harbor, Hounsfield Township, Jefferson County, New York.

 

2. Wife: Carrie Nugent

 

Born about 1858 in New York; daughter of Lester and Caroline (Doty) Nugent.  Died ; interred North Watertown Cemetery, Watertown, Jefferson County, New York.

 

1910 US Census: Carrie Goodfriend, age 51 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS), widowed, and not employed, was heading a household at 1010 Superior Street in the City of Watertown, Jefferson County, New York.  She had had 5 children, 3 of whom were still alive.  The household also included her son, Gorge Goodfriend, age 24 (b. NYS; father b. English-speaking Canada; mother b. NYS) and employed as a shipping clerk for a harness factory, who had been married once for 2 years; daughter-in-law, Anna Goodfriend, age 22 (b. French-speaking Canada; parents b. French-speaking Canada), who immigrated to the US in 1894, had been married once for 2 years, and had had 1 child, still alive; granddaughter, Vivian Goodfriend, age 1 year and 3 months (b. NYS; father b. NYS; mother b. French-speaking Canada) and father, Lester Nugent, age 78 (b. NYS; father b. CT; mother b. RI) and not employed.

Edith Hattie Goodfriend: Born 23 April 1881 at Syracuse, Onondaga County, New York.  Died 21 April 1956 at Kalispell, Flathead County, Montana; interred there in Conrad Memorial Cemetery.  Married Henry John Brown (b. 22 May 1875 in WI, d. 19 Sep 1950 at Kila, Flathead Co., MT; interred with Edith), son of John and Lucy (?) Brown, on 16 March 1901 at Watertown, Jefferson County, New York and had children.

d. Clarence L. Goodfriend: Born 1891 in Jefferson County, New York.  Died there 1954; interred North Watertown, Jefferson County, New York.  Married Nellie R. Hardy (b. 1891, d. 25 September 1968; interred with Clarence) and had a child.

 

e. Eva May Goodfriend: Born 3 June 1896 in Jefferson County, New York.  Died there 15 June 1896; interred Sulphur Springs Cemetery, Surphur Springs, Jefferson County, New York.

1918 WWI Draft Registration: George Edward Goodfriend, age 32 (b. 2 Apr 1886) and employed as a machinist for the NY Air Brake Company, resided with his nearest relative (wife), Anna Goodfriend, at 1014 Railroad Street in the City of Watertown, Jefferson County, New York.

 

1920 US Census: George E. Goodfriend, age 33 (b. NYS; father b. English-speaking Canada; mother b. NYS) and employed as a fireman in a pad factory, was heading a household at 855 Ann Street in the City of Watertown, Jefferson County, New York.  The household also included his wife, Anna Goodfriend, age 32 (b. English-speaking Canada; parents b. English-speaking Canada), who immigrated to the US in 1896 (subsequently naturalized); daughter, Vivian Goodfriend, age 11 (b. NYS); son, Archibald Goodfriend, age 8 (b. NYS); and daughter, Thelma Goodfriend, age 1 year and 2 months (b. NYS).

Born 2 October 1911 in New York.  Died 3 March 1972 at Watertown, Jefferson County, New York; interred there in North Watertown Cemetery.

 

1930 US Census: Archibald Goodfriend, age 19 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS) and employed as a chauffeur for a department store, was heading a household at 665 Midland Avenue in the City of Yonkers, Westchester County, New York.  He married 1st at age 18.  The household also included his wife, Ethel Goodfriend, age 19 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS), who married 1st at age 18; and daughter, Barbara Goodfriend, age less than 1 months (b. NYS).

 

1940 US Census: Archie R. Goodfriend, age 28 (b. NYS) and employed as a machinist for the NY Airbrake Company, was heading a household at 754 Davidson Street in the City of Watertown, Jefferson County, New York.  He had completed 8th grade.  The household also included his wife, Ethel I. Goodfriend, age 29 (b. NYS), who had completed 4 years of high school; daughter, Barbara A. Goodfriend, age 10 (b. NYS); daughter, Karen L. Goodfriend, age 2 (b. NYS); and mother, Anna Goodfriend, age 52 (b. French-speaking Canada) and widowed, who had completed 8th grade.  They resided in the same city on 1 April 1935.
