1910 US Census: George A. Heiss, age 44 (b. MI, parents b. Germany) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household at Ash, Monroe County, Michigan.  The household also included his wife, Caroline M. Heiss, age 41 (b. MI, parents b. Germany); son, Stanley M. Heiss, no age given (b. MI); daughter, Allie M. Heiss, age 11 (b. MI); son, Earle H. Heiss, age 7 (b. MI); and son, Raymond P. Heiss, age 6 (b. MI).

 

1920 US Census: George Heiss, age 54 (b. MI, father b. Prussia, mother b. Wurtenborg, Germany) and employed as a farmer.  The household also included his wife, Caroline Heiss, age 51 (b. MI, as were her parents); son, Earl Heiss, age 17; and son, Raymond Heiss, age 15.

1910 US Census: Barbara Heiss, age 67 (b. Germany, as were her parents) and widowed, resided in the household headed by William H. Bole, age 29 (b. MI, as were his parents) and employed as a farmer at Ash, Monroe County, Michigan.  His household also included William's wife, Lydia Bole, age 27 (b. MI, parents b. Germany); William's son, Walter S. Bole, age 6 (b. MI); William's daughter, Gladdis J. Bole, age 1 year & 6 months; and Edward McLaughlin, age 21 (b. MI, as were his parents), single, and employed as a farm laborer.

 

1920 US Census: Barbara Heiss, age 77 (b. Germany, as were her parents; immigrated to the US in 1847, naturalized 1863) resided in the household headed by her son-in-law, William Bole, age 39 (b. MI, father b. NY, mother b. MI) and employed as a farmer at Ash, Monroe County, Michigan.  The household also included William's wife, Lydia Bole, age 37 (b. MI, parents b. Bavaria, Germany); son, Walter Bole, age 15; daughter, Gladys Bole, age 11; daughter, Pearl Bole, age 9; and son, Charles Bole, age 5.

Born 18 April 1904 at Carleton, Ash Township, Monroe County, Michigan.  Died there 8 September 1985.  Married Anna Maxine Montei, descendant #3 of generation 7 of the Descendants of Sarah Ellen (Cool) Montei on 18 August 1928.
