Born about 1772.  Died .  Resided in LeRay Township, Jefferson County, New York.

 

1860 US Census: Simon, age 88 and employed as a farmer, was heading a household in LeRay Township, Jefferson County, New York.  The household also included Caroline (sp) Keller (age 26); and William Keller (age 6).  All were born in New York State.

a. Jacob Keller: (perhaps) Born about 1794.  Employed as a farmer in LeRay Township, Jefferson County, New York.

 

1840 US Census: Jacob, age 40 to 50, was heading a household in LeRay Township, Jefferson County, New York.  The household also included 2 males under age 5; 1 age 5 to 10; 1 male age 10 to 15; 1 male age 15 to 20; 1 male age 20 to 30; 1 female age 5 to 10; 1 female age 10 to 15; 1 female 20 to 30; and 1 female age 40 to 50.

 

1850 US Census: Jacob, age 56 and employed as a farmer, was born in NYS and heading a household in LeRay Township.  Other members of the household included his wife, Nancy Keller (age 54, b. NYS); son, Aaron Keller (age 24, b. NYS); son, Simon Keller (age 23, b. NYS); daughter, Rosina Keller (age 20, b. NYS); son, William Keller (age 18, b. NYS); and son, Joseph Keller (age 16, b. NYS).

 

1860 US Census: Jacob, age 65 and employed as a farmer, was heading a household in LeRay Township, Jefferson County, New York.  The household also included Aaron Keller (age 35, employed as a farmer); Louisa Keller (age 25) (probably Aaron’s wife); Hiram Keller (age 4); William Keller (age 25, employed as a farmer); and Eliza A. Morrison (age 16, employed as a servant.  All were born in New York State.

 

Jacob Keller married Nancy (?) and had the following children:

 

(1. Aaron Keller: Born about 1826.

 

(2. Simon Keller: Born about 1827.

 

1870 US Census: Simon, age 43 and employed as a farmer, was heading a household in LeRay Township, Jefferson County, New York.  The household also included his wife, Caroline Keller, age 35; son, William H. Keller, age 15; and daughter, Clara Ann, age 12.

 

Simon Keller married Caroline (?) (b. abt 1835) and had the following children:

 

(a. William H. Keller: Born about 1855.

 

(b. Clara Ann Keller: Born about 1858.

 

(3. Rosina Keller: Born about 1830.

 

(4. William Keller: Born about 1832.

 

(5. Joseph Keller: Born about 1834.

 

1860 US Census: Joseph, age 26 and employed as a farmer, headed a household in LeRay Township, Jefferson County, New York.  The household also included his wife, Catherine Keller (age 29); and Joseph Shaffer (age 25, employed as a farmer).

Born about 1816.  Died .  Employed as a farmer in LeRay Township, Jefferson County, New York.

 

1860 US Census: Reuben, age 44 and employed as a farmer, was heading a household in LeRay Township, Jefferson County, New York.  The household also included his wife, Catherine Keller (age 42); son, William H. Keller (age 21); son, David Keller (age 18); son, John M. Keller (age 16); daughter, Lucelia Keller (age 15); son, Lewis Keller (age 11); son, Charles O. Keller (age 9); son, Moses Keller (age 6); son, Sidney Keller (age 3 months); and John Buckley (age 29, employed as a Dutch cheese maker).

 

1870 US Census: Reuben, age 45 and employed as a farmer, was heading a household in LeRay Township, Jefferson County, New York.  The household also included his wife, Catharine Keller, age 43; son, David Keller, age 27; son, John Keller, age 25; John’s wife, Elizabeth Keller, age 23; and their son, Byron Keller, age 4 months.

Born about 1844.  Died .  Resided in LeRay Township, Jefferson County, New York.

 

1860 US Census: John M. Keller, age 16, resided with his parents in LeRay Township, Jefferson County, New York.

 

1870 US Census: John Keller, age 25 and employed as a farmer, resided in the household headed by his father, Reuben Keller, age 45, in LeRay Township, Jefferson County, New York.  Apart from his mother and brother, David, the household also included his wife, Elizabeth Keller, age 23, and son, Byron, age 4 months.

 

2. Wife: Elizabeth Grapotte

 

Born about 1848.  Died .

a. Eugenia D. Keller: See generation 1, below.

 

b. Byron Keller: Died before 1954.  Resided at Evans Mills, Jefferson County, New York.

 

c. Oscar Keller: Born in LeRay Township, Jefferson County, New York.  Died Saturday, 18 May 1929, age 54, from complications of heart disease at home in the Village of Evans Mills, LeRay Township, Jefferson County; interred Evans Mills Cemetery.  Employed 18 years at Calcium, Jefferson County by Madison Cooper.  In 1927 moved to Evans Mills to work for F. X. Baumert & Company, Inc.  Married Addie Sixberry and had the following children:

 

(1. Daughter: Married E. J. Casselman and resided at Brooklyn, New York.

 

(2. Daughter: Married Leon Call and resided at

 

(3. Irene Keller: Resided at Evans Mills, Jefferson County, New York.

 

(4. Wesley Keller: Resided at Great Bend, Jefferson County, New York.

 

d. Frank Keller: Died before 1954.  Resided at Great Falls, Montana.

 

e. Allie Keller: Married Merton Sixberry and resided at Great Bend, Jefferson County, New York.

 

5   Eugenia Genie D. Keller:

 

Born 22 September 1884.  Died 14 November 1954, age 70.  Married Henry R. Gardner, paragraph C.2.a.(2.(a. of generation 5 of the Gardner Annex on 10 September 1902.
