1. Biographical notes:

 

Born about 1837 in Maine.  Died .

 

1860 US Census: William Mosher, age 22 (b. ME) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household in Orwell Township, Oswego County, New York.  The household also included his wife, Loretta Mosher, age 17 (b. NYS); and daughter, Hellen Mosher, age 1 (b. NYS).

 

1865 NYS Census: William W. Mosher, age 28 (b. Oneida Co., NY) and employed as a mail carrier, was heading a household in Orwell Township, Oswego County, New York.  He had been married once.  The household also included his wife, Lorette Mosher, age 23 (b. Oswego Co., NY), who had had 4 children; daughter, Hellen F. Mosher, age 6 (b. Oswego Co., NY); son, William C. Mosher, age 2 (b. Oswego Co., NY); and daughter, Minnie A. Mosher, age 3 months (b. Oswego Co., NY).

 

1870 US Census: No clear record found.

 

1875 NYS Census: William W. Mosher, age 37 (b. Oneida Co., NY) and employed as a farm laborer, was heading a household in Orwell Township, Oswego County, New York.  The household also included his wife, Lorett Mosher, age 33 (b. Oswego Co., NY); daughter, Helen Mosher, age 16 (b. Oswego Co., NY); daughter, Minnie Mosher, age 10 (b. Oswego Co., NY); son, John Mosher, age 7 (b. Oswego Co., NY); daughter, Treat Mosher, age 5 (b. Oswego Co., NY); and daughter, Rosa Mosher, age 2 years and 10 months (b. Oswego Co., NY).  Of interest, the household headed by Walstin Balch, age 46 (b. Oswego Co., NY) and employed as a farmer, was enumerated before him on the same census page.  Among others, that household also included Walstin's wife, Berissa S. Balch, age 44 (b. Oswego Co., NY).

 

1880 US Census: William Mosher, age 43 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS) and employed as a laborer, was heading a household in Orwell Township, Oswego County, New York.  The household also included his wife, Loretta Mosher, age 37 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS); daughter, Hellen Batch, age 22 (b. NYS) and married; William Mosher, age 16 (b. NYS), single, and employed by a tannery; daughter, Minnie Mosher, age 15 (b. NYS); son, Johnee? Mosher, age 12 (b. NYS); daughter, Theressa Mosher, age 10 (b. NYS); daughter, Georgia Mosher, age 2 (b. NYS); son, Frankie Mosher, age 1 (b. NYS); and granddaughter, Berisse Balch, age 2 (b. NYS).

 

2. Wife: Loretta Lewis

 

Born Jun 1842 in Orwell Township, Oswego County, New York.  Died 16 September 1910 in Parish Township, Oswego County, New York.  Married William W. Mosher about 1857 in Oswego County, New York.

 

1900 US Census: Loreta Mosher, age 57 (b. Jun 1842 in NYS; parents b. NYS) and widowed, was heading a household in the Village of Parish, Parish Township, Oswego County, New York.  She had had 7 children, all still alive.  The household also included her daughter, Minnie Segrinn, age 35 (b. Mar 1865 in NYS; parents b. NYS), who had been married 2 years and had had no children.

 

1910 US Census: Loretta Mosher, age 67 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS), widowed, and not employed, resided in the household headed by her son, Frank A. Mosher, age 31 (b. NYS), in the Town of Parish, Oswego County, New York.

a. Hellen Mosher: Born about 1858 in New York.  Married William H. Balch (b. abt 1854 in Oswego Co., NY) and had the following daughter:

1900 US Census: William Moshier, age 35 (b. Jun 1864 in NYS; parents b. NYS) and employed as a teamster, was heading a household in Adams Township, Jefferson County, New York.  The household also included his wife, Lillian Moshier, age 27 (b. May 1873 in NYS; parents b.  NYS), who had had 4 children, 3 of whom were still alive; daughter, Lulu Moshier, age 8 (b. Jul 1891 in NYS); daughter, Eldora Moshier, age 7 (b. Oct 1892 in NYS); son, William Moshier, age 1 (b. Aug 1898 in NYS); and brother, Frank Moshier, age 21 (b. Jun 1878 in NYS), single, and employed as a hostler.

 

1905 NYS Census: Eldora Moshier, age 12, resided with her parents in Adams Township, Jefferson County, New York. 

 

1910 US Census: William C. Mosher, age 45 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS) and employed as a laborer in a saw mill, was heading a household on Rail Road Street in the Village of Adams, Adams Township, Jefferson County, New York.  He had been married once.  The household also included his wife of 21 years, Lillian L. Mosher, age 36 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS), who had been married once and had had 5 children, 4 of whom were still alive; daughter, Lula L. Mosher, age 18 (b. NYS), single, and employed as an operator in a telephone office; son, Willie Mosher, age 11 (b. NYS); daughter, Lillian A. Mosher, age 2 (b. NYS); and brother-in-law, Arthur Henderson, age 27 (b. NYS).

 

1920 US Census: William Mosher, age 55 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS) and employed as a yard man for a paper mill, was heading a household at 728 Morrison Street in the City of Watertown, Jefferson County, New York.  The household also included his wife, Lillian Mosher, age 46 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS); son, William Mosher, Jr., age 21 (b. NYS), single, and employed as a machine operator for a carriage shop; and daughter, Lillian Mosher, age 12 (b. NYS).

 

1930 US Census: William Mosher, age 65 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS), widowed, and not employed, resided in the household headed by his son-in-law, Raymond J. Guyett, age 29 (b. NYS) at 739 Morrison Street in the City of Watertown, Jefferson County, New York.

 

2. Wife: Lillian Henderson

 

Born May 1873 in New York; daughter of Sidney E. and Mary F. (Gray) Henderson.  Died 7 April 1922.

 

3. Children:

 

a. Lulu L. Mosher: Born July 1891 in New York.

c. Child: Died before 1900.

 

d. William Mosher: Born about 1899 in New York.  Operated a gas station and diner in Clayton Township, Jefferson County, New York.

 

e. Lillian Agnes Mosher: Born about 1908 in Adams Township, Jefferson County, New York.  At age 19, while a resident of Watertown, Jefferson County, New York, married Robert J. Tacey (b. Brownville Twp, Jefferson Co., NY), age 21 and also a resident of Watertown, son of William C. (b. England) and Jane A. (Switzer) Tacey (b. Canada), on 16 December 1923 (license issued 6 Dec 1923) at Central Square, Oswego County, New York.

 

3   Eldora "Dody" Mosher:

 

Born 29 October 1892 at Watertown, Jefferson County, New York.  Died August 1983 in Jefferson County, New York; interred Clayton Cemetery, Clayton, Jefferson County, New York.  Married (1st) Ernest George Froome, paragraph 4.b. of generation 3 of the Froome Annex on 29 October 1909 (divorced 25 May 1923 at Canton, Stark Co., OH) and had the following son:

 

1. Ronald John Froome: (photos) (more info) Born 3 June 1913.  Died September 1996.  See paragraph 4.b.(1. of generation 3 of the Froome Annex.

Eldora (Mosher) Froome married (2nd) Raymond Joe Guyett "Joe," on 30 July 1924 and resided last on the north side of Route 12E a few miles south of the Village of Clayton, Clayton Township, Jefferson County, New York.

1930 US Census: Raymond J. Guyett, age 29 (b. ) and employed as foreman in a garage, was heading a household at 739 Morrison Street in the City of Watertown, Jefferson County, New York.  He married 1st at age 23, and his residence was valued at $1,800.  The household also included his wife, Eldora Guyett, age 36 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS) and employed as a saleslady for in the millinery industry, who married 1st at age 30; son, Ronald J. Guyett, age 16 (b. NYS), single, and not employed; and father-in-law, William Mosher, age 65 (b. NYS; parents b. US), widowed, and not employed.

 

1940 US Census: Raymond Guyette, age 39 (b. NYS) and employed as a mechanic for a garage, was heading a household on Grindstone Island Road, Grindstone Island, Clayton Township, Jefferson County, New York.  He had completed 2 years of high school.  The household also included his wife, Eldora Guyette, age 46 (b. NYS), who had completed 2 years of high school; adopted daughter, Constance Guyette, age 5 (b. NYS); and adopted son, James Guyette, age 4 (b. NYS).  On 1 April 1935 they resided in Watertown Township, Jefferson County, New York.
