Note 2: Memories of Marian Elizabeth Biles

“Several times I was at Anna’s [youngest daughter of James Monroe Biles] when McKernan relatives came to call – there were some Knowles folks; I think from the Easton, Pennsylvania area.  There was somebody from Towanda, I don’t know who they were.  Josephine seems to be a name I associate with that location.  If I ever get hold of my old diaries, they might show something (I didn’t always take my diary along when I went overnight or on a weekend.).

“Also, Uncle Luke’s family seemed to come often.  I was over there also (to Uncle Luke’s family) (Don’t ask me where ‘over there’ was – across the river on the hill-tops somewhere).  Byron had bees and buck-wheat honey.”
