1850 US Census: Platt Newcomb, age 65 (b. NYS) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household in Plattsburgh Township, Jefferson County, New York.  His real estate was valued at $3,500.  The household also included his wife, Ruth Newcomb, age 62 (b. CT); son, Levi P. Newcomb, age 29 (b. NYS) and employed as a farmer; Sarah Newcomb, age 22 (b. NYS); and Julia Newcomb, age 20 (b. NYS).  His next door neighbor was the household headed by Samuel Newcomb, age 37.

 

1860 US Census: Hatt Newcomb, age 74 (b. NYS) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household in Plattsburgh Township, Jefferson County, New York.  His real estate was valued at $7,500 and his personal property was valued at $8,000.  The household also included his wife, Ruth Newcomb, age 73 (b. CT); and Julia K. Newcomb, age 28 (b. NYS).  His next door neighbor was the household headed by his presumed son, Samuel Newcomb, and his presumed son, Levi P. Newcomb, was heading a household under the same roof as his parents.

NYS); son, George Newcomb, age 10 (b. NYS); son, Platt Newcomb, age 8 (b. NYS); daughter, Ruth E. Newcomb, age 6 (b. NYS); daughter, Lucretia Newcomb, age 4 (b. NYS); daughter, Julia Newcomb, age 9 months; and Mary Monroe, age 16 (unknown birth location).

Born 1838 in New York.  Died 11 November 1911; interred Woodside Cemetery, Belleville, Adams Township, Jefferson County, New York.  Veteran of the American Civil War; Corporal in the 2nd Regiment, New York Volunteer Cavalry.

 

1850 US Census: Kinner Newcomb, age 11, resided in the household headed by Erastus L. Mead, age 34 (b. NYS) and without occupation, in Plattsburgh Township, Jefferson County, New York.

 

1860 US Census: Kinner S. Newcomb, age 21 (b. NYS) and employed as a millwright, resided with his parents in Plattsburgh Township, Clinton County, New York.

 

1870 US Census: No record found for Kinner Newcomb.

 

1880 US Census: No record found for Kinner Newcomb.

 

1900 US Census: Henry S. Newcomb, age 61 (b. Dec 1838 in NYS; parents b. NYS) and employed as a commercial traveler, was heading a household at 30 Forber Avenue in the City of Northampton, Hampshire County, Massachusetts.  The household also included his wife of 10 years, Laura E. Newcomb, age 43 (b. Feb 1857 in NYS; parents b. VT), who had had 3 children, 1 of whom was still alive; and step-daughter, Florence M. Hinman, age 19 (b. Mar 1881 in NYS; parents b. NYS), single, and a student.

Newcomb, age 53 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS), who also had been married twice, and who had had 3 children, 1 of whom was still alive.
