1. Biographical notes:

 

Born 1826.  Died 1919; interred New Albany Cemetery, New Albany Borough, Bradford County, Pennsylvania.  Veteran of the Civil War; Company A, 171st Regiment of Pennsylvania Volunteers.

 

1880 US Census: Andrew Newton, born 1826 in Pennsylvania, was heading a household in Albany Township, Bradford County, Pennsylvania.  The household also included his wife, Lucinda (b. 1826 in PA), daughter, Emma (b. 1859 in PA); son, Wentworth (b. 1866 in PA); son, Thomas (b. 1869); and daughter, May (b. 1878 in PA).

 

2. Wife: Lucinda V. Keeney

 

Born 1833 in Pennsylvania.  Died 1917; interred with Andrew in New Albany Cemetery.

 

3. Children: (order uncertain)

 

a. Emma I. Newton: See generation 1, below.

 

b. Wentworth "Wint" Newton: (photos) Born 1866.  Married Bertha (?) (photos).

 

c. Thomas "Tom" Newton: (photos) Born 1869.  Married Daisy (?) (photos).

 

d. May V. Newton: (photos) Born 1878.  Married Charles "Charley" A. Kipp (photos) (b. 1874, d. 1943) and had the following children:

(2. Leland Kipp: (photos) Born 20 May 1904.  Died 25 January 1998.

 

(3. Ydara Kipp: Adopted.

Born 26 February 1859 in Pennsylvania.  Died 1919.  Married Oscar Fizalan Strunk, paragraph 4.C.2.i. of the Alexander Patterson Biles page on 13 May 1882.
