1. Biographical notes:

 

Born about 1765 in Herkimer County.  Died .  Moved to Jefferson County, New York about 1824.

 

1850 US Census: James Schram, age 73 (b. NYS) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household in Ellisburg Township, Jefferson County, New York.  The household also included Larry Schram, age 50 (b. NYS); and Harriet Schram, age 17 (b. NYS).

 

1855 NYS Census: James Schram, age 90 (b. Herkimer Co., NY), with no occupation recorded, was heading a household in Ellisburg Township, Jefferson County, New York.  He moved to Jefferson County about 1824.  The household also included his wife, Catherine Schram, age 75 (b. Herkimer Co., NY), who moved to Jefferson County about 1824; son, James Schram, age 36 (b. Herkimer Co., NY), who moved to Jefferson County about 1824; daughter, Catherine Schram, age 34 (b. Herkimer Co., NY), who moved to Jefferson County about 1824; daughter, Harriet Schram, age 32 (b. Herkimer Co., NY), who moved to Jefferson County about 1824; and grandson, William H. Schram, age 9 (b. Jefferson Co., NY).

 

1860 US Census: Catharin Schram, age 80 (b. VT) and employed as , was heading a household in Ellisburg Township (Pierrepont Manor Post Office), Jefferson County, New York.  The household also included her son, James Schram, age 42 (b.  NYS) and employed as a laborer; daughter, Harriett Schram, age 38 (b. NYS); and grandson, William Schram, age 16 (b. NYS).  Of interest, Henry Schram, age 45 (b. NYS) and employed as a farm laborer, resided in the household headed by William Wodell, age 57 (b. NYS) and employed as a farmer, which was enumerated next door.

1865 NYS Census: Harriet Schram, age 35 (b. Jefferson Co., NY) and single, with no occupation recorded, was heading a household in Ellisburg Township, Jefferson County, New York.  She had had 2 children.  The household also included her son [quite legible], William H. Schram, age 20 (b. Jefferson Co., NY) and single, with no occupation recorded; son, Isaac Schram, age 3 years and 6 months (b. Jefferson Co., NY); and mother, Lana Schram, age 85 (b. place not recorded) and widowed, who had been married once and had had 9 children.

 

1870 US Census: Harriet Schram, age 47 (b. NYS) and employed keeping house, was heading a household in Albion Township, Oswego County, New York.  The household also included Wm Henry Schram, age 26 (b. NYS) and employed as a farm laborer; and Isaac Schram, age 9 (b. NYS).

 

4   James Schram

 

1. Biographical notes:

 

Born about 1819 in Herkimer County, New York.  Died 26 May 1862, age 44; interred Ellisburg Rural Cemetery, Ellisburg Township, Jefferson County, New York.  Veteran of the American Civil War; served in Company K of the 24th NY Volunteer Infantry Regiment from 7 May 1861 to 25 November 1861.

 

2. Wife: Harriet C. (?)

 

Born about 1827 in Columbia County, New York.  Died .

 

3. Children:

 

a. William Henry Schram: See generation 3, below.

 

b. Isaac Schram: (more info) Born about 1862 in Jefferson County, New York.  Died Wednesday evening, 1 August 1883, age 21 years, 6 months, and 18 days at Watertown, Jefferson County, New York from complications of having his legs crushed in a railroad accident that occurred Thursday, 17 May 1883 at Watertown.

 

3   William Henry Schram:

 

Born 1843/44 in Ellisburg Township, Jefferson County, New York.  Died 13 February 1912 in the City of Watertown, Jefferson County, New York.  Married Harriet Elizabeth Foster, paragraph D.4.a. of generation 3 of the Kirchner Annex on 11 February 1872 in Cape Vincent Township, Jefferson County, New York.
