Marian Elizabeth Biles wrote: “I went to visit ‘Gilbert’ Sumner with my father. He was an old man – in bed – and died that
year. He was the last living ‘own
cousin’ to my Grandfather, John A. Biles.
He lived just off the road (to the left) from Camptown
toward Lawton.”

3 children, 2 of whom were still alive; son, Benton Sumner, age 5 (b. Oct 1894
in PA); and daughter, Jenneive Sumner, age 1 (b. Mar
1899 in PA).
1910 US Census: Gilbert G. Sumner, age 49 (b. PA; parents
b. PA) and employed as was heading a household in Pike Township, Bradford
County, Pennsylvania. He had been
married once. The household also
included his wife of 19 years, Bertha M. Sumner, age 42 (b. PA; parents b. PA),
who had been married once and had had 6 children, 4 of whom were still alive;
son, Benton R. Sumner, age 17 (b. PA), single, and employed as a farm laborer;
daughter, Genevieve, age 11 (b. PA); daughter, Blendina
Sumner, age 7 (b. PA); daughter, Gilberta Sumner, age
9 months (b. PA); and servant, Estella Kane, age 26 (b. PA; parents b. PA) and

parents b. PA) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household on Sumner Road
in Pike Township, Bradford County, Pennsylvania. The household also included his wife, Bertha
Sumner, age 53 (b. PA; parents b. PA); son, Benton Sumner, age 26 (b. PA),
single, and employed as a farmer; daughter, Genevive
Sumner, age 20 (b. PA), single, and employed as a public school teacher;
daughter, Blendina Sumner, age 17 (b. PA), single,
and not employed; and daughter, Gilberta Sumner, age
10 (b. PA).
George Gilbert Sumner married Bertha May Rockwell
(b. 11 Nov 1867 at Spring Hill, Bradford Co., PA, d. 28 Dec 1957 at
Stevensville, Bradford Co., PA; interred with George), daughter of William
Alonzo and Mary (Taylor) Rockwell, and (perhaps) had the following children:
