Born . Died 1738. Resided at Strawberry (now Cockermouth Parish), Cumberland County, England. In 1702 emigrated from England to America with his wife and children, settling on a farm of 357 acres near Oxford Valley, a part of the tract later owned by J. Harvy Satterthwaite, and on which was an old stone graveyard. Joined the Falls Monthly Meeting [of Quakers] in 1702. Was a Justice of the Peace for many years.
