Germany), single, and employed as a hardware salesman; and mother-in-law, Anna Wyeth, age 76 (b. England; parents b. England).

 

1940 US Census: Maude Coop, age 60 (b. IL) and widowed, resided in the household headed by her son-in-law, Fletcher B. Dirst, age 46 (b. IL) in the City of Aurora, Aurora Township, Kane County, Illinois.

 

Maude Wyeth married Arthur Coop (b. 29 Jan 1870 in Lisbon Twp, Kendall Co., IL, d. 26 Jan 1934 at Aurora, Kane Co., IL; interred with Maude), son of Charles (b. 1846, d. 1912) and Sarah Ann (Broadbent) Coop (b. 1845, d. 1908), about 1895 and had the following children:

 

(a. Glenn C. Coop: Born 24 July 1897 at White Willow, Lisbon Township, Kendall County, Illinois.  Died November 1980 at Minooka, Grundy County, Illinois; interred there in Aux Sable Cemetery.

 

1930 US Census: Glenn C. Coop, age 32 (b. IL; parents b. IL) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household in Seward Township, Kendall County, Illinois.  He married 1st at age 24.  The household also included his wife, Alma M. Coop, age 28 (b. IL; father b. Norway; mother b. IL), who married 1st at age 20; son, Ralph J. Coop, age 7 years and 5 months (b. IL); daughter, Shirley M. Coop, age 5 years and 6 months (b. IL); son, Charles H. Coop, age 3 years and 2 months (b. IL); and daughter, Norma Il Coop, age 4 months (b. IL).

IL) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household in Seward Township, Kendall County, Illinois.  He had completed 8th grade.  The household also included his wife, Alma Coop, age 38 (b. IL), who had completed 8th grade; son, Ralph Coop, age 17 (b. IL), who had completed 2 years of high school; daughter, Shirley Coop, age 15 (b. IL), who had completed 1 year of high school; son, Charles Coop, age 13 (b. IL), who had completed 8th grade; daughter, Norma Coop, age 11 (b. IL), who had completed 5th grade; son, Arthur Coop, age 7 (b. IL), who had completed 1st grade; son, Gale Coop, age 5 b. IL); and daughter, Joanne Coop, age 2 (b. IL).  They resided in the same county on 1 April 1935.

 

Glenn C. Coop married Alma May Thompson (b. 5 Feb 1902 in IL, d. Jun 1982 at Minooka, Grundy Co., IL; interred with Glenn), daughter of Corneil Cenel and Sarah (Knudson) Thompson, and had the following children:

 

(1) Ralph Jay Coop: Born about 23 February 1923 in Seward Township, Kendall County, Illinois.  Died 16 September 1978 at Minooka, Grundy County, Illinois.

 

(2) Shirley M. Coop: Born about 1925 in Seward Township, Kendall County, Illinois.  Died April 1986 at Aurora, Kane County, Illinois.

 

(3) Charles Howard Coop: Born 25/29 September 1926 in Seward Township, Kendall County, Illinois.  Died 17 February 1976 at Joliet, Will County, Illinois; interred Aux Sable Cemetery, Minooka, Grundy County, Illinois.

 

(4) Norma Ilene Coop: Born 30 November 1929 in Illinois.  Died June 1982 at Aurora, Kane County, Illinois; interred Aux Sable Cemetery, Minooka, Grundy County, Illinois.  Married Boyd W. Potter (b. 15 Dec 1925; interred with Norma).

 

(5) Arthur Charles Coop: Born 23 May 1932 in Kendall County, Illinois.  Died 7 March 2007 at Joliet, Will County, Illinois; interred Aux Sable Cemetery, Minooka, Grundy County, Illinois.

 

(6) Gale Coop: Born about 1935 in Illinois.

 

(7) Joanne Coop: Born about 1938 in Illinois.

IL) and employed as a grain and stock farmer, was heading a household in Channahon Township, Will County, Illinois.  The household also included his wife, Gladys Dirst, age 20 (b. IL; parents b. IL); and hired man, Glenn Coop, age 22 (b. IL; parents b. IL) and employed as a farm laborer.

 

1930 US Census: Fletcher Dirst, age 33 (b. IL; father b. OH; mother b. IL) and employed as an assembler in the door hanging industry, was heading a household at 134 Seminary Avenue in the City of Aurora, Aurora Township, Kane County, Illinois.  He married 1st at age 23.  The household also included his wife, Gladys Dirst, age 30 (b. IL; parents b. IL), who married 1st at age 19; son, Wayne Dirst, age 8 (b. IL); and son, Milton Dirst, age 4 (b. IL).

 

1940 US Census: Fletcher B. Dirst, age 46 (b. IL) and employed as a machinist for a steel manufacturing company, was heading a household at 418 Simms Street in the City of Aurora, Aurora Township, Kane County, Illinois.  He had completed 2 years of high school.  The household also included his wife, Gladys Dirst, age 43 (b. IL) and employed as a seamstress at home, who had completed 1 year of high school; son, Wayne A. Dirst, age 17 (b. IL) and single, who had completed 1 year of college; son, Milton D. Dirst, age 13 (b. IL), who had completed 8th grade; mother-in-law, Maude Coop, age 60 (b. IL) and widowed, who had no formal schooling; and housekeeper, Irene G. Peterson, age 24 (b. IL) and single, who had completed 8th grade.  They resided in the same house on 1 April 1935.

 

Gladys Coop married Fletcher Dustin Dirst (b. 28 Nov 1895 at Minooka, Grundy Co., IL, d. 4 Apr 1981 at Tucson, Pima Co., AZ), son of John Frederick and Ida (Paul) Dirst, and had the following children:

 

(1) Wayne Arthur Dirst: Born 3 November 1921 at Aurora, Kane County, Illinois.  Died 9 April 1982 at Tucson, Pima County, Arizona.  Married Georganna Mitchell (b. 12 Feb 1924, d. 1 Jul 2000 at Tucson, AZ) and had the following children:

 

(a) Barbara Dirst: Married Carl Winter and resided in Arizona.

 

(b) Martha Dirst: Married David Castro and resided in Arizona.

 

(2) Milton Dustin Dirst: Born 10 February 1926 at Aurora, Kane County, Illinois.  Died 27 April 2003, age 77, at home in Springfield, Sangamon County, Illinois; cremated remains interred there in Cathedral Church of Saint Paul Courtyard.  Apparently never married.

 

(c. Vernon Arthur Coop: Born 1903 in Illinois.  Died 11 December 1942 at Aurora, Aurora Township, Kane County, Illinois; interred there in Spring Lake Memorial Gardens.

 

1940 US Census: Verna A. Coop, age 37 (b. IL) and employed as a truck driver for a laundry, was heading a household at 816 Fifth Avenue in the City of Aurora, Aurora Township, Kane County, Illinois.  He had completed 1 year of high school, and his residence was valued at $4,900.  The household also included his wife, Frances Coop, age 40 (b. IL) and employed as a sorter and marker for a laundry, who had completed 8th grade.  They resided in the same city on 1 April 1935.

 

At age 19/20, Vernon Coop married (1st) Ruth A. Knaak (b. abt 1903), age 18/19, daughter of August and Augusta (Summers) Knaak, on 15/16 April 1922 in Kane County, Illinois; subsequently divorced.  At age 21 Ruth (Knaak) Coop married (2nd) Harlan W. Behrens, age 23, son of Fred and Carrie (Coster) Behrens, on 22 March 1925 in Kane County, Illinois.

 

Vernon Coop married (2nd) Frances C. Schosseler (b. 20 Jan 1900 in IL, d. 8 Dec 1982; interred Spring Lake Memorial Gardens, Aurora, Kane Co., IL).

 

(d. Florence E. Coop: Born about February 1910 in Illinois.  Died 1978.

 

(3. Myrtle Ann Wyeth: Born 25 May 1880 in Lisbon Township, Kendall County, Illinois.  Died there 23 October 1902, age 22; interred Aux Sable Cemetery, Minooka, Grundy County, Illinois.

 

(4. Florence Olive Wyeth: Born 29 May 1886 in Illinois.  Died 8 May 1977; interred Spring Lake Cemetery, Aurora, Kane County, Illinois.

 

1910 US Census: Carl Hopkins, age 28 (b. IL; parents b. IL) and employed as foreman in the Richards Factory, was heading a household at 77 La Salle Street in the City of Aurora, Aurora Township, Kane County, Illinois.  He had been married once.  The household also included his wife of 1 year, Florence Hopkins, age 23 (b. IL; father's birth location unknown; mother b. England), who had been married once and had had no children.

 

1920 US Census: Carl J. Hopkins, age 36 (b. IL; parents b. US) and employed as foreman in the shipping department of a tool company, was heading a household at 480 La Salle Street in the City of Aurora, Aurora Township, Kane County, Illinois.  The household also included his wife, Florence Hopkins, age 33 (b. IL; parents b. US); and son, Wyeth Hopkins, age 8 (b. IL).

 

1930 US Census: Carl J. Hopkins, age 47 (b. IL; parents b. IL) and employed as partner in a laundry, was heading a household at 624 La Salle Street in the City of Aurora, Aurora Township, Kane County, Illinois.  He married 1st at age 28.  His residence was valued at $8,500.  The household also included his wife, Florence Hopkins, age 38 (b. IL; parents b. IL) and employed as a dry goods saleslady, who married 1st at age 18; and son, Weseth Hopkins, age 18 (b. IL), single, and employed as a railroad station clerk.

 

1940 US Census: Carl J. Hopkins, age 59 (b. IL) and employed as foreman in the door manufacturing industry, resided in the household headed by Hannah Wyeth, age 88 (b. England) and widowed, at 516 La Salle Street in the City of Aurora, Aurora Township, Kane County, Illinois.  The household also included Carl's wife, Florence Hopkins, age 54 (b. IL) and employed as a clerk in a general merchandise store; and son, Wyeth Hopkins, age 28 (b. IL) and single, with no occupation recorded.  Hannah's residence was valued at $5,000.

 

At age 24/23 Florence Wyeth married Carl Jobst Hopkins (b. 15 Mar 1882 at Altona, IL, d. Feb 1953; interred with Florence), age 28/27, son of John Wallace and Nancy (Cadwell) Hopkins, on 9 March 1910 in Kane County, Illinois and had the following son:

 

(a. Wyeth Hopkins: Born about 1912 in Illinois.

 

(5. Son: Born and died 19 July 1896 in Lisbon Township, Kendall County, Illinois; his mother died the same day from complications of his birth.

 

At age 52 Charles Wyeth married (2nd) Hannah "Anna" Harrop (b. abt 1854 at Mosely, England, d. 31 Dec 1946 at Aurora, Kane Co., IL; interred with Charles), age 44, daughter of Thomas and Anna (Lunn) Harrop, on 8 September 1898 at Minooka, Grundy County, Illinois.

Born March 1845 in Jefferson County, New York.  Died 1923 in New York.  Married Charles J. Drake, paragraph 4.d.(5. of the Ziba Drake page before 1875.
