6 Daniel Allen
1. Biographical notes:
Born 25 April 1718 at Attleborough, Massachusetts. Died 1/25
April 1805 in Franklin Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. Was employed as a
carpenter. After
marriage moved to Dutchess County, New York, then to the Wyoming Valley,
Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
During the Revolutionary War Daniel and his family returned to Dutchess
County, New York. He and each of his
three sons served in the Revolutionary War.
His sons returned to Luzerne County about 1796 and
built a grist mill on Towanda Creek at Franklindale. Daniel joined them in 1797.
2. Wife: Sarah Sprague
Born 21/28 November 1728 at Providence, Rhode
Island. Died between
20 February 1812 and 21 February 1813.
Daughter of David (or Jonathan) and Lydia (Leavitt) or
Jemima (Ballou) Sprague. Married Daniel Allen on 11
November 1745 at Smithfield, Providence County, Rhode Island by Justice William
Jenckes.

Born 25 April 1756 at
Smithfield/Cumberland Township, Providence County, Rhode Island. Died 26/29
May 1837 (age 81) at Franklindale, Franklin Township,
Bradford County, Pennsylvania.

Born 1760. Died 18 January 1830, age 70. Married David Allen about
1776/86 at West Franklin, Bradford County, Pennsylvania.
