1.  Biographical notes:

 

Born 3 October 1805 at Stroudsburg, Northampton County, Pennsylvania.  Died 24 November 1854.  Had a store between the Swank and Dewan residences – at the head of John Taylor Road.

 

1850 US Census: Wm Angle, age 45 (b. PA), resided in the household headed by his son, Francis Angle, age 21 (b. PA) and employed as a farmer, in Herrick Township, Bradford County, Pennsylvania.

 

2.  Wife: Margaret Little

 

Born August 1809 in Upper Smithfield Township, Pike County, Pennsylvania.  Died 16 July 1848.  Married William Angle on 3 April 1828 at Asylum, Bradford County, Pennsylvania, with Justice of the Peace, John LaPorte officiating.

 

3.  Children:

 

a. Francis "Frank" Angle: Born 7 December 1828.  Died 9 October 1862; interred Williamsport Cemetery, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.

 

1850 US Census: Francis Angle, age 21 (b. PA) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household in Herrick Township, Bradford County, Pennsylvania.  His real estate was valued at $3,000.  The household also included his wife, Phebe Angle, age 21 (b. PA); brother, John Angle, age 20 (b. PA) and employed as a farmer; brother, Levi Angle, age 17 (b. PA); sister, Emeline Angle, age 14 (b. PA); brother, Wm Angle, age 10 (b. PA); sister, Almida Angle, age 7 (b. PA); brother, Elmore Angle, age 5 (b. PA); brother, Charles Angle, age 4 (b. PA); and father, Wm Angle, age 45 (b. PA), with no occupation recorded.

 

Francis Angle married Phoebe (?) and had the following son (perhaps more):

 

(1. Henry C. Angle: Employed as an engineer.  Married (1st) (?) (d. 22 Aug 1887.  Henry Married (2nd), as her 2nd husband, Mary (Rugg) Stevens, daughter of (?) Rugg, on 5 January 1897 at Tunkhannock, Wyoming County, Pennsylvania.  Mary married (1st) (?) (d. Dec 1890).

c. Levi F. Angle: Born 12 December 1832.

 

1870 US Census: There was a Levi Angle, age 37 (b. PA) and employed as a lumberman, heading a household in Haven Township, Clinton County, Pennsylvania.  His real estate was valued at $2,000 and his personal property was valued at $1,200.  The household also included his wife, Alice Angle, age 28 (b. England); son, Orra Angle, age 8 (b. PA); son, John Angle, age 4 (b. PA); Ellen Caldwell, age 22 (b. PA); and Benj Caldwell, age 24 (b. PA), with no occupation recorded.

 

1880 US Census: There was a Levi Angle, age 48 (b. PA) and employed as a lumber inspector, heading a household in Williamsport Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.  The household also included his wife, Alace W. Angle, age 37 (b. England); son, Orra E. Angle, age 17 (b. PA); son, John C. Angle, age 13 (b. PA); and sister, M. S. Coldwell, age 26 (b. PA).

 

d. Sally Jane Angle: Born 7 November 1834.

 

e. Emaline Angle: Born 30 January 1836.

 

f. William W. Angle: Born 11 March 1839.

 

g. Aby Ann Angle: Born 19 May 1841.

 

h. Almeda Angle: Born 3 June 1843.  Died 15 May 1892.

 

i. Elmer/Elmore F. Angle: Born 21 November 1844.  Died 21 October 1883; interred Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.  Veteran of the American Civil War; served in the 99th Regiment of Pennsylvania Infantry.

 

1870 US Census: Elmer Angle, age 25 (b. PA) and employed as a policeman, resided in the household headed by B. Middaugh, age 28 (b. NYS) and employed as foreman on water works, in Williamsport Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.  Elmer's real estate was valued at $1,000 and his personal property was valued at $500.  The household also included Meda Middaught, age 24 (b. PA).

 

1880 US Census: Elmer Angle, age 35 (b. PA) and employed as a constable, was heading a household in Williamsport Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.  The household also included his wife, Aussey Angle, age 34 (b. PA); daughter, Lelas Angle, age 2 (b. PA); and son, Elmer Angle, Jr., age 3 months (b. PA).

 

Elmer Angle married Levenia "Aussie" O. (?) and had the following children:

 

(1. Lelia Angle: (photos) Born about 1878 in Pennsylvania.  Married (?) Coles.

 

(2. Elmer Angle, Jr.: Born about February/March 1880 in Pennsylvania.

 

j. Charles S. Angle: Born 5 December 1846.  Died 10 June 1874; interred Ballibay Cemetery, Herrick Township, Bradford County, Pennsylvania.

Born 7 September 1830.  Died 8 March 1907; interred Ballibay Cemetery, Herrick Township, Bradford County, Pennsylvania.  Resided there.  Veteran of the American Civil War; served as an assistant surgeon in the Field and Staff Company of the 123 Pennsylvania Infantry.

 

1850 US Census: John Angle, age 20 (b. PA) and employed as a farmer, resided in the household headed by his brother, Francis Angle, age 21 (b. PA) in Herrick Township, Bradford County, Pennsylvania.

 

1860 US Census: J. S. Angle, age 29 (b. PA) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household in Herrick Township, Bradford County, Pennsylvania.  His real estate was valued at $3,000 and his personal property was valued at $781.  The household also included his wife, Albince Angle, age 29 (b. PA); Tracy Angle (male), age 4 (b. PA); brother, Elmore Angle, age 15 (b. PA) and employed as a servant; brother, Chas Angle, age 13 (b. PA); sister, Almeda Angle, age 17 (b. PA) and employed as a servant; and brother, Wm Angle, age 20 (b. PA) and employed as a carpenter, whose personal property was valued at $150.  Of interest, the household headed by J. D. Squires, age 38 (b. PA) and employed as a farmer, was enumerated next door.

Angle, age 20 (b. PA) and employed working on the farm; son, Ethel F. Angle, age 18 (b. PA) and employed working on the farm; daughter, Alice G. Angle, age 12 (b. PA) and in school; and servant, Sarah K. Labor, age 25 (b. PA).  Of interest, the household headed by farmer Gideon Squires, age 32, was enumerated next door.

 

1900 US Census: John C. Angle, age 69 (b. Sep 1830 in PA; parents b. PA) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household in Herrick Township, Bradford County, Pennsylvania.  The household also included his wife of 46 years, Albina T. Angle, age 68 (b. Sep 1831 in PA; parents b. CT), who had had 4 children, 1 of whom was still alive; daughter, Alis C. Angle, age 32 (b. Mar 1868 in PA; parents b. PA), single, and employed as a dress maker; granddaughter, Ousie A. Biles, age 21 (b. Nov 1878 in PA; parents b. PA) and single; granddaughter, Kattie A. Biles, age 19 (b. Jul 1880 in PA; parents b. Angle, age 42 (b. PA; parents b. PA), single, and employed as manager of a general farm; granddaughter, Ossie A. Biles, age 30 (b. PA; parents b. PA), single, and not employed; granddaughter, Katharine A. Biles, age 29 (b. PA; parents b. PA), married, and not employed; and grandson, Bert M. Biles, age 25 (b. PA; parents b. PA), single, and employed as a farmer (working out).

d. Alice G. Angle: (photos) Born 3 March 1868 in Pennsylvania.  Died 5 January 1913, age 44, in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred 7 January 1913 in Wyalusing Township, Bradford County, Pennsylvania (also seen: interred Ballibay Cem., Herrick Twp, PA).  Employed doing housework.  Resided last at 2952 N. Judem Street, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.  Never married.

 

1   Theresa "Tracy"/"Tilla" C. Angle

 

Born 25 February 1858.  Died 10 April 1890.  Married Milo Biles, 3rd child of Lewis “Duke” Biles, who was the 13th child of Alexander Patterson Biles, generation 7 of the Ancestors of John Addison Biles.
