Born 24 March 1781 in Dutchess County, New York.  Died 19 September 1872, age 91, at Lebanon, Madison County, New York; gravestone there in West Eaton Cemetery (though Clayton Twp, Jefferson Co., NY records indicate Charlotte died at Clayton).  Received a Revolutionary War pension based on the military service of Abraham Covenhoven.  Married (1st) Cornelius Bennett in 1799/1800/1802 in Saratoga County, New York and perhaps resided in Lyme Township, Jefferson County, New York.  In 1832, at age 51, Charlotte married (2nd) Abraham Covenhoven in York County, Maine.  She married (3rd) Nathan Lake (b. 1784/88 in VT, d. 31 Aug 1856 in Lyme Twp, Jefferson Co., NY; interred Putnam Cem.), a long time resident of Lyme Township, Jefferson County, New York, by 1850 and resided there.  Nathan Lake had married (1st) Lydia (?) (b. 1784, d. 11 Apr 1848 in Lyme Twp, NY)

1875 NYS Census: John Bennett, age 32 (b. Jefferson Co., NY) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household in Clayton Township, Jefferson County, New York.  The household also included his wife, Harriett Bennett, age 25 (b. Jefferson Co., NY); and son, Bernard Bennett, age 3 years and 10 months (b. Jefferson Co., NY).  Their next door neighbors on one side were John's parents, and on the other, his sister, Rose Ellen (Bennett) Dye, and her family.

W. Cross officiating.  John was employed a family physician.  Flora met him while visiting her relatives in Parish, New York (perhaps her Aunt Rose E. Dye, who resided at Parish in 1892).  Fenton and Flora had 2 children.

Irma Eileen MacCallum: Born 2 December 1903 at Fernwood, Richland Township, Oswego County, New York.  Died 19 October 1976 at Fayetteville, Manlius Township, Onondaga County, New York; interred 22 October in the Village of Pulaski Cemetery, Pulaski, Oswego County, New York.  Irma was a 1924 graduate of Syracuse University.  Employed outside the home as a school teacher.

 

Married Charles Betts Holcombe IV "Betts," DDS (b. 8 May 1902 in Newton Borough, Bucks Co., PA, d. 7 Jul 1979 at Syracuse, Onondaga Co., N.Y.; interred 10 Jul with Irma), son of Reverend Charles Thomas (b. 6 Nov 1877 at Gardenville, Bucks Co., PA, d. 4 Jul 1970 at Oswego, NY) (who officiated their marriage) and Flora May (Snyder) Holcombe (b. 9 Nov 1880 at Plumstead, Bucks Co., PA, d. 28 Jul 1971 at Boonville, Oneida Co., NY).  Charles, a graduate of St Lawrence University, Harvard University, and the University of Minnesota, was employed as a dentist in Fayetteville, New York.  Betts and Irma had the following children:

 

(a. Charles Fenton Holcombe: Born 31 July 1931 at Syracuse, Onondaga County, New York.  Died 21 April 1995 at home in the Village of Chittenango, Sullivan Township, Madison County, New York from complications of diabetes; interred 30 July 1995.  Veteran of the Korean War; served in the US Army from 15 August 1952 to 5 August 1954.  Employed as a buyer.  Married (1st) Laura "Lee" Ellen Estabrook (b. 18 Sep 1936 at Syracuse, NY , d. 14 Nov 1974 at home in Pompey Twp, Onondaga Co., N.Y.; interred Fayetteville Village Cemetery, Fayetteville, Manlius Township, Onondaga Co., N.Y.), daughter of Charles Scott and Martha (Ingalls) Estabrook, on 1 November 1958.  Laura was a 1958 graduate of Syracuse University (major: fine arts) and was employed outside the home as an artist.  Charles and Laura (Estabrook) Holcombe had the following children:

 

(1) Charles Bentley Holcombe VI: Married Lisa Ann Sementelli, daughter of Robert Francis and Grace Alice (Roy) Sementelli, and had the following child:

 

(a) Charles Robert Holcombe, VII "Bert".

 

(2) Martha 'Marnie' Eileen Holcombe: Adopted.  Born 7 August 1967 at Syracuse, New York.  Married (?) Koch.

N.J.), bap 9 Dec 1917 at the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, W. Philadelphia, PA, d. 24 Jun 1974 at Scotts Plains, NJ; interred Fairview Cem., Westfield, NJ, lot 868 (also seen: d. 21 Dec 1981)), daughter of Robert Thomas and Madeline Elizabeth (DuRocher) Northcutt, and had the following son:

Rhoades (b. 20 May/Mar 1900 at Durand, Pepin Co., WI, d. 1 Sep 1974 at home in Detroit, Wayne Co., MI), daughter of Elmer/Harry and Ednabelle (Goben) Rhoades, on 3 October 1919 at Detroit.  Delia was employed as a meat cutter.  In 1941 Howard and Delia resided at Flint, Genesee County, Michigan; in 1958 they resided at Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan.  They had the following daughter:

(1. Barbara Ellen Sheridan: Born 10 February 1929 at Brooklyn, New York.  Died 16 April 1981 at Houston, Harris County, Texas.  Married Richard G. Sedgeley (b. 28 Feb 1928, d. 28 Oct 1996 at Harris Co., TX) about 1952; subsequently divorced.  Barbara and Richard had the following children:
