1. Biographical notes:

 

Born September 1875 in England.  Died 16 July 1960 at Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio; interred there in Brooklyn Heights Cemetery.  Immigrated to the US in 1887/89.

 

1900 US Census: No record found.

 

1910 US Census: Robert Bird, age 35 (b. England) and employed as a buffer in a stove works, was heading a household at 3434 Henninger Road in the City of Cleveland, Cleveland Township, Cuyahoga County, Ohio.  He immigrated to the US in 1887, and he had been married once.  The household also included his wife of 11 years, Anna Bird, age 29 (b. OH; father b. Germany; mother b. OH); daughter, Caroline Bird, age 9 (b. OH), who had been married once and had had 2 children, both still alive; daughter, Grace Bird, age 4 (b. OH); and lodger, Robert W. Toole, age 24 (b. OH), single, and employed as a laborer in a stove foundry.

 

1920 US Census: Robert Bird, age 44 (b. England; parents b. England) and employed as Deputy Collector in the Customs industry, was heading a household at 3426 Henninger Road in the City of Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio.  He immigrated to the US in 1887 and became a naturalized citizen in 1889.  The household also included his wife, Anna Bird, age 38 (b. OH; father b. Germany; mother b. OH); daughter, Caroline Bird, age 19 (b. OH), single, and employed as a bookkeeper for a novelty company; daughter, Grace Bird, age 14 (b. OH); son, Robert Bird, Jr., age 7 (b. OH); daughter, Dorothy Bird, age 3 years and 10 months (b. OH); and boarder, Adolph G. Gustafson, age 80 (b. Ireland; parents b. Ireland), divorced, who immigrated to the US in 1854 and became a naturalized citizen in 1870.

 

1930 US Census: Robert Bird, age 54 (b. England; parents b. England) and employed as an inspector in the US Custom's Division, was heading a household at 3267 West 98th Street in the City of Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio.  He immigrated to the US in 1889, was subsequently naturalized, married 1st at age 23, and his residence was valued at $7,500.  The household also included his wife, Anna Bird, age 49 (b. OH; father b. Germany, mother b. OH), who married 1st at age 18; son, Robert R. Bird, age 17 (b. OH); and daughter, Dorothea Bird, age 14 (b. OH).

 

1940 US Census: Robert Bird, age 64 (b. England) and employed as a customs inspector for the US Government, was heading a household at 3263 West 98th Street in the City of Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio.  He had completed 8th grade.  The household also included his wife, Anna Bird, age 59 (b. OH), who had completed 8th grade; and son, Robert Bird, age 27 (b. OH), single, and employed as furnace repairman for a sheet metal and furnace company, who had completed 2 years of high school.  They resided in the same house on 1 April 1935.

a. Biographical notes:

 

Born 27 March 1881 at Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio; daughter of Martin (b. 1855, d. 1908) and Ida Bertha (Lucas) Kushen (b. 1861, d. 1895).  Died there 12 March 1941; interred with Robert.  Married Robert Bird in 1898.

Bird: Born 13 August 1900 at Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio.  Died 26 January 1975 at Parma, Cuyahoga County, Ohio; interred Brooklyn Heights Cemetery, Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio.  Married Harvey W. Vigneulle (b. 11 Nov 1900 in Cuyahoga Co., OH, d. 8 May 1973 at Parma, Cuyahoga Co., OH; interred with Caroline), son of Frank B. and Flora M. (Blackman) Vigneulle) on 24 November 1921 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio and had the following children:

 

(a. Ruth Vigneulle: Born 17 March 1924 at Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio.  Died 22 May 2008 at Parma, Cuyahoga County, Ohio; interred Brooklyn Heights Cemetery, Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio.  Never married.

 

(b. David Vigneulle: Born 1931.  Died 1997; interred Spring Grove Cemetery, Medina, Medina County, Ohio.  Married Carol S./A. (Moritz) (b. 26 Feb 1930, d. Mar 2012; interred with David).

 

(2. Grace E. Bird: Born about 1906.  Married Raymond F. Ernest.

(4. Dorathea "Dorothy" Esther Bird: Born 21 February 1916 at Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio.  Died 13 December 1997 at Lakewood, Cuyahoga County, Ohio; interred North Olmsted, Cuyahoga County, Ohio.  Married Paul C. Wehrmeister on 12 November 1938 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio.

1. Biographical notes:

 

Born 18 December 1912 in Ohio.  Died 28 May 1976 at Cleveland/Avon, Cuyahoga County, Ohio; interred St. Joseph's Cemetery, Avon, Lorain County, Ohio.  Veteran of World War II.

 

2. Wife: Marian Dimmis Higgins

 

Born 26 September 1911 at Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio; daughter of George T. (b. 1886, d. 1969) and Eva L. (Scott) Higgins (b. 1887, d. 1966).  Died 23 June 1980 at Lakewood, Cuyahoga County, Ohio; interred with Robert.  At age 28 married Robert Bird, age 27, on 18 May 1940 (license dated 4 May 1940) in Cuyahoga County, Ohio.

b. Thomas Bird: Born 1951.  In 2023 resided in Kansas.

Born 11 April 1947 at Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio.  Died 3 May 2023 at Cornerstone Hospice and Palliative Care, 601 Mariposa Way, The Villages, Florida.  Married (1st) Jean Severn.  Married (2nd) Katherine Elizabeth (Drake) Seaman, descendant #2.3 of generation 13 of the Descendants of Almond Henry Drake.
