1900 US Census: Fred C. Bovee, age 40 (b. Aug 1859 in NYS) and employed as a teamster, was heading a household in Lyme Township, Jefferson County, New York.  The household also included his wife of 17 years, Elizabeth Bovee, age 39 (b. Morse, age 50 (b. NH; 3 yrs of HS); his mother, Ida M. Bovee, age 62 (b. English Canada; 2 yrs HS); Ida's son, George W. Bovee, age 22 (b. NYS) and single; Ida's son, Ralph P. Bovee, age 19 (b. (age 93); interred Dexter Cemetery, Dexter, N.Y.), son of Jesse and Louise (Britton) Oliver, on 13 October 1930 at Hope Presbyterian Church, Watertown, New York and resided at Dexter, New York before moving to Carthage in 1942.  Resided last at 222 State Street, Apartment 1004, Carthage, New York 13619.  Myron was employed 29 years at Crown Zellerbach Corporation, Carthage, New York, retiring in February 1971.  Myron and Lena had the following children: (order uncertain)

Born 1 May 1915 at Dexter, Brownville Township, Jefferson County, New York.  Died Thursday, 29 January 2004, age 88, in the Carthage Area Hospital, Carthage, Wilna Township, Jefferson County, New York; interred Sunnyside Cemetery, Naumburg, Lewis County, New York.  Graduated from Dexter High School in June 1933.  Resided with his family at 315 N. Clinton Street, Carthage, New York 13619.  Was employed starting 1943 in the payroll department of the National Paper Products Corporation (which later became the Crown Zellerbach Corp.) in Carthage, retiring in 1976.  For a period of time was a Councilman for Wilna Township.  Enjoyed woodworking and playing the violin.  Developed dementia in later life and resided last in the Skilled Nursing Unit of the Carthage Area Hospital.

Born 11 March 1922 at home on West End Avenue, Carthage, Wilna Township, Jefferson County, New York.  Died Monday, 18 April 2005, age 83, at Carthage Area Hospital; interred beside Richard in Sunnyside Cemetery, Naumburg, Lewis County, New York.  Daughter of Floyd Ray and Dorothy “Dolly” Adelaide (Blackman) White of Greene, New York.  Named by her mother after Ruth from the Bible.  As a child Ruth’s nickname was “Fluffy.”  She had hazel-colored eyes and blonde hair.  Contracted polio at age 8 and was paralyzed, but, with exercise and treatment for about 3 years at a reconstructive facility in Ithaca, New York, recovered to the point of being able to walk.

 

Graduated from Carthage High School in 1940 and studied religious education at Houghton College for 1 year.  Was employed as a receptionist for Jay Blodgett in Carthage before marrying Richard John Bovee on 10 August 1947 at the First Baptist Church in Carthage.  When Richard moved into a nursing facility Ruth moved to 222 State Street (Long Falls Apartments, also known as the “High Rise”), Apartment #707, Carthage, New York 13619, where she was a community leader, including author of the popular newspaper column: “High Rise Highlights.”  Last residence: Country Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Carthage.

a. Reverend Martin “Marty” White Bovee: (photos) (more info) Born 1952.  In 1981 was Associate Pastor of the First Baptist Church, Red Bank, New Jersey.  Married Musa Hall (b. 20 May ?) in 1982 and resided in Pennsylvania.  They had the following child:

c. Dr. Matthew “Matt” J.
