Born 1728 at Washington-North Kingstown, Rhode Island.  Died 30 May 1802 at Aenia, Dutchess County, New York.

 

2. Wife: Renewed Sweet

 

Born 1730 at Newport, Warwick County, Rhode Island, daughter of James and Sarah (Stephenson) Sweet of Kent, Warwick County, Rhode Island.  Died 15 May 1810 at Aenia, Dutchess County, New York.  Married Jonathan Card, Jr. in 1748.  Moved to Amenia about 1760, where he was considered a "gentleman" and owned a 200-acre farm.

1. Biographical notes:

 

Born 9 September 1764 at Amenia, Dutchess County.  Died 7 June 1837 at Grafton, Ontario, Canada; interred Fairview Cemetery, Route 2a, Sheltered Valley Road, 1.5 miles east of Grafton, Ontario.  Probably met his wife while attending seminary near Boston.  Was a Baptist minister.  Moved to Herkimer County, New York, then about 1804 to Denmark, Lewis County, New York, the about 1811 moved to Grafton, Ontario, Canada, about 40 miles west of Belleville.

Born 27 November 1769 at Watertown, Massachusetts, daughter of Captain Amariah Williams (b. 9 Feb 1729, d. 26 Mar 1802) and his 2nd wife, Mary Royce (b. 1748, d. 1793), an officer in the "Minutemen" of Lexington and Concord, Massachusetts.  Mary (Williams) Card died 1 July 1837 at Grafton, Ontario, Canada.  Married Peleg Card on 1 November 1790.

Born 12 November 1820 in Sydney Township, Ontario, Canada, daughter of Simon (b. 1779, d. 1859) and Lucy (Crittenden) Ostrom (b. 1789, d. 1876).  Died 18 September 1898 at Akron, Tuscola County, Michigan.  Married George W. Card on 24 November 1845.
