VA) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household the Bush Creek District (Jonesboro Post Office) of Washington County, Tennessee.  His real estate was valued at $1,195, and his personal property was valued at $612.  The household also included his wife, Elizabeth A. Clark, age 27 (b. TN); son, James L. Clark, age 5 (twin) (b. TN); daughter, Louta A. Clark, age 5 (twin) (b. TN); son, Daniel R. Clark, age 3 (b. TN); daughter, Catharine S. Clark, age 1 (b. TN); and domestic servant, Sarah P. Brown, age 17 (b. TN).

TN) and employed as a laborer, was heading a household in District 9 of Washington County, Tennessee.  The household also included his wife, Rebecca Clark, age 25 (b. TN; father b. TN; mother b. VA); daughter, Elizabeth Clark, age 3 (b. TN); and son, Wm H. Clark, age 1 (b. TN).

 

1900 US Census: James L. Clark, age 46 (b. TN) and employed as , was heading a household in McKinley Township, Monroe County, Alabama.  The household also included his wife, Rebeckan Clark, age 35 (b. AL); and daughter, Lillie B. Clark, age 18 (b. AL).

 

1910 US Census: James L. Clark, age 55 (b. TN; father b. VA; mother b. TN) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household in the 9th Civil District of Washington County, Tennessee.  He had been married once.  The household also included his wife of 33 years, Rebecca E. Clark, age 54 (b. TN; parents b. VA), who had been married once and had had 9 children, 7 of whom were still alive; daughter, Angie Clark, age 25 (b. TN), single, and not employed; daughter, Dora Clark, age 22 (b. TN), single, and employed as a school teacher; son, Lafayett Clark, age 20 (b. TN), single, and employed as a farmer; and daughter, Edith Clark, age 11 (b. TN).

h. Wilbur Terry Clark; Born 31 January 1895 in Tennessee.  Died 20 September 1896 at Johnson City, Tennessee.

 

i. William Henry Clark: Born 16 February 1879 at Johnson City, Tennessee.  Married Rhoda May Uliard on 29 August 1907.

1. Biographical notes:

 

Born 10 August 1881 at Johnson City, Washington County, Tennessee.  Died 19 August 1974, age 93 years and 9 days, at the Sweetbriar Nursing Home, Brenham Township, Washington County, Texas.

 

1910 US Census: Daniel H. Clark, age 28 (b. TN; parents b. TN) and employed as a general farmer, was heading a household in Seward Township, Stafford County, Kansas.  He had been married once.  The household also included his wife of 13 months, Irene Clark, age 28 (b. VA; parents b. VA), who had been married once and had had no children.  Of interest, it appears they resided under the same roof as the household headed by J. William Miller, age 54 (b. VA; parents b. VA) and employed as a fruit farmer.  That household also included William's wife of 25 years, Mary E. Miller, age 46 (b. VA), who had had no children.

 

1920 US Census: Daniel H. Clark, age 38 (b. TN; parents b. TN) and employed as a clerk in civil service, was heading a household at 124 Licust/Locust Street (West) in the City of San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas.  The household also included his wife, Irene M. Clark, age 36 (b. VA; parents b. VA); son, Vincent Clark, age 6 (b. TX); and daughter, Wilma Clark, age 2 years and 6 months (b. TX).

 

1930 US Census: Daniel H. Clark, age 48 (b. TN; parents b. TN) and employed as a public school teacher, was heading a household at 1738 Summit Avenue in the City of San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas.  He married 1st at age 28, and his residence was valued at $5,500.  The household also included his wife, Irene M. Clark, age 48 (b. VA; parents b. VA), who married 1st at age 27; son, Vincent M. Clark, age 16 (b. TX); and daughter, Wilma M. Clark, age 10 (b. TX).

 

1940 US Census: Daniel H. Clark, age 58 (b. TN) and employed as a public school teacher, was heading a household at 1819 Edison Street in Bexar County, Texas.  He had completed 5 years of college.  His residence was valued at $2,000.  The household also included his wife, Irene M. Clark, age 58 (b. VA), who had completed 1 year of college; and daughter, Wilma I. Clark, age 20 (b. TX), single, and employed as a office clerk for a hotel, who had completed 2 years of college.  They resided in the same house on 1 April 1935.

1940 US Census: Vincent M. Clark, age 26 (b. TX) and employed as an attendant in a gasoline station, was heading a single-person household in Herman Township, St. Louis County, Minnesota.  He had completed 1 year of college.  On 1 April 1935 he resided at Duluth, Minnesota.
