1870 US Census: James Dalton, age 37 (b. Ireland)
and employed as a farmer, was heading a household in Croghan

1834 in Ireland) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household in Croghan Township, Lewis County, New York. He immigrated to the US in 1851 and was
subsequently naturalized. The household
also included his wife, Catherine Dalton, age 65 (b. Jun 1834 in NYS; parents
b. Ireland), who had had 11 children, 10 of whom were still alive; and son,
James Dalton, Jr., age 23 (b. Jan 1877 in NYS), single, and employed as a farm
laborer.
1905 NYS Census: James Dalton, age James Dalton, age
76 (b. Ireland) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household on State Road
in Croghan Township, Lewis County, New York. The household also included his wife, Cathrine A. Dalton, age 67 (b. US); son, James R. Dalton,
age 46 (b. US) and employed as a farmer; and son, Morris A. Dalton, age 26 (b.
US) and employed as a farmer.
1910 US Census: James Dalton, age 85 (b. Ireland;
parents b. Ireland), resided in the household headed by his son, James Dalton,
age 37 (b. NYS), single, and employed as a farmer. James Sr. immigrated to the US in 1850 and
was subsequently naturalized. The
household also included James, Sr.'s wife of 50 years, Cally
Dalton, age 75 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS), who
had had 12 children, 10 of whom were still alive. Of interest, the household headed by James

Cross, daughter of Frank Cross of Roscoe, Arizona, on 22 July 1943 at Tucson,
Pima County, Arizona.
