Born about 1799 in Massachusetts.  Died .  Moved to New York by 1839.

 

1850 US Census: Seaver Drake, age 51 (b. MA) and employed as a joiner, was heading a household in Eagle Township, Wyoming County, New York.  The household also included his wife, Juliann Drake, age 45 (b. VT); son, Miran Drake, age 16 (b. VT) and employed as a farmer; son, Charles Drake, age 11 (b. NYS); and son, Asaph Drake, age 18 (b. VT) and employed as a joiner.  Of interest, the household headed by his likely son, Oliver Drake, age 25 (b. VT) and employed as a joiner, was enumerated directly afterwards on the same census page.  That household also included Oliver's wife, Roxanna Drake, age 22 (b. NYS).

1850 US Census: Marsena Drake, age 22 (b. NYS), with no employment recorded, resided in the household headed by Smith Lyon, age 37 (b. VT) and employed as a farmer, in Eagle Township, Wyoming County, New York, whose real estate was valued at $6,450.

 

1860 US Census: Marcena Drake, age 32 (b. NYS) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household in Eagle Township, Wyoming County, New York.  His real estate was valued at $3,520, and his personal property was valued at $1,200.  The household also included his wife, Eliza Drake, age 32 (b. NYS); son, Fred Drake, age 7 (b. NYS); and Elezabeth Nelson, age 18 (b. NYS) and employed doing housework.

 

1870 US Census: Marsena Drake, age 42 (b. NYS) and employed as a farmer and speculator?, was heading a household in Eagle Township, Wyoming County, New York.  His real estate was valued at $10,000, and his personal property was valued at $8,000.  The household also included his wife, Elza Drake, age 42 (b. NYS); and son, Charles Drake, age 11 (b. NYS).

 

1880 US Census: Marcena Drake, age 52 (b. NYS; parents b. MA) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household in Eagle Township, Wyoming County, New York.  The household also included his wife, Eliza M. Drake, age 52 (b. NYS; father b. NYS; mother b. VT); and son, Charly Drake, age 20 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS) and employed as a farm laborer.

 

1900 US Census: Marsena Drake, age 72 (b. Dec NYS; parents b. VT) and employed as a capitalist, was heading a household in the Village of Arcade, Arcade Township, Wyoming County, New York.  The household also included his wife of 49 years, Elza M. Drake, age 73 (b. May 1827 in NYS; parents b. VT), who had had 2 children, both still alive; and servant, Emma Hand, age 21 (b. Oct 1878 in NYS; father b. Ireland; mother b. NYS) and single.

NYS; parents b. NYS); Thomas Hughes, age 24 (b. NYS; parents b. Wales), single, and employed as a farm laborer; and Mary Doran, age 18 (b. NYS; parents b. Ireland), single, and employed as a servant.

 

1900 US Census: Fred E. Drake, age 47 (b. Jul 1852 in NYS; parents b. NYS) and employed as a traveling salesman, was heading a household in the Village of Arcade, Arcade Township, Wyoming County, New York.  The household also included his wife of 24 years, Jennie A. Drake, age 43 (b. Jul 1856 in NYS; parents b. NYS) who had had no children.

1900 US Census: Charles M. Drake, age 40 (b. Aug 1859 in NYS) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household in Eagle Township, Wyoming County, New York.  The household also included his wife of 9 years, Ellen Drake, age 30 (b. Feb 1870 in NY); daughter, Eliza M. Drake, age 8 (b. Feb 1892 in NYS); and son, Marcena C. Drake, age 5 (b. Sep 1895 in NYS).

 

1910 US Census: Charles M. Drake, age 50 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household in the Village of Arcade, Arcade Township, Wyoming County, New York.  He had been married once.  The household also included his wife of 19 years, Ellen W. Drake, age 40 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS), who had had 3 children, all still alive and had been married once; daughter, Eliza M. Drake, age 16 (b. NYS) and single; daughter, Marcena C. Drake, age 14 (b. NYS); and daughter, Francis W. Drake, age 11 months (b. NYS).

NYS), a widower, and employed as a farmer, was heading a household in the Village of Arcade, Arcade Township, Wyoming Township, New York.  He married 1st at age 31 [abt 1890].  The household also included his son, Francis Drake, age 20 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS) and single.

1940 US Census: Francis W. Drake, age 30 (b. NYS) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household at 121 Olean Street, Sardinia Township, Erie County, New York.  He had completed 4 years of college.  The household also included his wife, Mildrid Drake, age 31 (b. NYS), who had completed 4 years of college; son, Philipp Drake, age 6 (b. NYS), who had completed 1st grade; and daughter, Judith Drake, age 3 (b. NYS).  All but Judith resided in Wyoming County, New York on 1 April 1935.
