Born 1831 in England.  Died 1912; interred Sanford Corners Cemetery, Calcium, Jefferson County, New York.

 

1860 US Census: No record found.

 

1865 NYS Census: Henry Eves, age 32 (b. Canada) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household in LeRay Township, Jefferson County, New York.  He had been married once, and his frame residence was valued at $50.  The household also included his wife, Mary Eves, age 25 (b. Canada), who had been married once and had had 5 children [recorded under daughter, M. J.]; daughter, M. J. Eves [later Mary Jane (Eves) Drake], age 8 (b. Canada); daughter, Martha Eves, age 7 (b. Canada); daughter, Ester Eves, age 5 (b. Canada); daughter, Merrilla Eves, age 3 (b. Canada); and daughter, Eva Eves, age 1 (b. Canada).

 

1870 US Census: Henry Eves, age 38 (b. England; parents of foreign birth) and employed as a peddler, was heading a household in LeRay Township (Philadelphia Post Office), Jefferson County, New York.  His real estate was valued at $200; no personal property valued recorded.  The household also included his wife, Mary Eves, age 28 (b. NYS; parents of foreign birth); daughter, Martha Eves, age 12 (b. NYS); daughter, Esther Eves, age 10 (b. NYS); daughter, Nellie Eves, age 9 (b. NYS); daughter, Janette Eves, age 6 (b. NYS); daughter, Cornelia Eves, age 3 (b. NYS); and son, Henry Eves, age 2 (b. NYS).

 

1875 NYS Census: Henry Eaves, age 42 (b. Canada) and employed as a farm laborer, was heading a household in LeRay Township, Jefferson County, New York.  He was an alien, and his framed residence was valued at $100.  The household also included his wife, Mary Eaves, age 31 (b. Canada); daughter, Martha Eaves, age 16 (b. Jefferson Co., NY); daughter, Ester Eaves, age 15 (b. Jefferson Co., NY); daughter, Millie Eaves, age 14 (b. Jefferson Co., NY); daughter, Eva Eaves, age 10 (b. Jefferson Co., NY); daughter, Cornelia Eaves, age 8 (b. Jefferson Co., NY); son, Henry Eaves, age 6 (b. NYS); daughter, Milla Eves, age 18 (b. NYS) and single; daughter, Nelia Eves, age 13 (b. NYS); son, Henry Eves, age 11 (b. NYS); daughter, Bertha Eves, age 7 (b. NYS); son, Frankie Eves, age 4 (b. NYS); [relation not recorded] James Eves, age 3 (b. NYS); and [relation not recorded] Myron Eves, age 1 (b. NYS).

 

1900 US Census: Henry Eves, age 66 (b. Aug 1833 in England; parents b. England) and employed as a day laborer, was heading a household in the Village of Black River, LeRay Township, Jefferson County, New York.  He immigrated to the US in 1839 and subsequently became a naturalized citizen.  The household also included his wife of 43 years, Mary Eves, age 58 (b. Mar 1842 in NYS; father b. French-speaking Canada; mother b. MI), who had had 15 children, 12 of whom were still alive; son, Myren Eves, age 21 (b. Apr 1879 NYS; father b. England; mother b. NYS), single, and employed as a day laborer; son, Lenestrie? Eves, age 15 (b. Sep 1884 in NYS; father b. England; mother b. NYS) and employed as a day laborer; and daughter, Ada Eves, age 14 (b. Jun? 1885 in NYS; father b. England; mother b. NYS).

 

1905 NYS Census: Henry Eves, age 73 and an alien, was heading a single-person household at the intersection of Pleasant Road and Pine Plains Road in LeRay Township, Jefferson County, New York.

 

1910 US Census: No record found.

Eaves: Born about 1859 in New York/Canada.  Died 1928; interred Sanford Corners Cemetery, Calcium, LeRay Township, Jefferson County, New York.  Married Rodney Whitney (b. 1851, d. 1939; interred with Martha), son of Riley (b. 1805, d. 1878) and Mary (?) Whitney (b. 1817, d. 1895), and had the following children:

 

(1. Homer Arthur Whitney: Born about 1890 in LeRay Township, Jefferson County, New York.

 

At age 19 Homer Whitney married Jessie Frances Dillenbeck (b. abt 1890), age 19, daughter of Frank and Eva (Weller) Dillenbeck, on 17 February 1909 (license issued 15 Feb 1909) in Jefferson County, New York.

 

c. Esther Eaves: Born about 1860 in Jefferson County, New York.  Married Charles Woolever and had the following son:

 

(1. Percy L. Woolever: Born about 1885 in the Village of Black River, Rutland Township, Jefferson County, New York.

 

At age 25, while employed as a moulder and a resident of Cleveland, Ohio, Percy Woolever married Julia Gliebe (b. abt 1890 at Cleveland, Cuyahoga Co., OH), age 20, daughter of Frank and Magdalena (Eppich) Gliebe, on 30 April 1910 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio.

 

d. Merilla "Millie/Milla" Eaves (also seen: "Nellie"): Born about 1861/62 in Jefferson County, New York.

 

e. Janette/Eva Eaves: Born about 1864 in Jefferson County, New York.

 

f. Cornelia "Nelia" Eaves: Born about 1867 in Jefferson County, New York.

 

g. Henry Eaves, Jr.: Born about 1869 in Jefferson County, New York.

 

1905 NYS Census: Henry Eaves, age 35, was heading a household on South Main Street in Rutland Township, Jefferson County, New York.  The household also included his wife, Ella Eaves, age 28; and daughter, Ethelthy Eaves, age 13.  Of interest, Henry's brother, Myron Eaves, age 26, was boarding in a household enumerated on the same page, along with fellow boarder, Abigal Eaves, age 21.

 

1910 US Census: Henry Eaves, age 35 (b. NYS; father b. England; mother b. NYS) and employed as a dairy farmer, was heading a household in Edwards Township, St. Lawrence County, New York.  He had been married once.  The household also included his wife of 17 years, Ella Eaves, age 33 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS), who had been married once and had had 1 child, no longer alive; ande niece, Edithel Young, age 18 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS) and single.

 

Henry Eaves, Jr. married Ella (?) and had the following daughter:

h. Bertha Eaves: Born 1872/73 (also seen: b. Oct 1878) in Jefferson County, New York.  Died 28 January 1941, age 62, in Wayland Township, Steuben County, New York; interred Mount Vernon Evergreen Cemetery, Springwater Township, Livingston County, New York.

 

1930 US Census: Clair Grover, age 55 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS) and employed as a barber with his own shop, was heading a household on Main Street in Springwater Township, Livingston County, New York.  He married 1st at age 24.  The household also included his wife, Bertha E. Grover, age 49 (b. NYS; father b. England; mother b. NYS), who married 1st at age 19; daughter, Kathelen G. Grover, age 20 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS); brother-in-law, Myron Eves, age 43 (b. NYS; father b. England; mother b. NYS) and employed as a laborer for the City Water Works, who married 1st at age 26; and nephew [Myron's son], Elden Eves, age 15 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS), single, and employed as a laborer for the City Water Works.

 

Bertha Eaves married Clare Grover (b. 7 Apr 1875 in Springwater Twp, Livingston Co., NY, d. Aug 1941 in Wayland Twp, Steuben Co., NY; interred with Bertha), son of Rufus K. (b. 1822, d. 1888) and Martha (Vallance) Grover (b. 1839, d. 1903), and had at least the following son:

 

(1. Son: Born 26 March 1908.  Died 4 April 1908 from complications of convulsions; interred with his/her parents in Mount Vernon Evergreen Cemetery, Springwater Township, Livingston County, New York.

 

i. Frankie Eaves: (female) Born about May 1874/76 in Jefferson County, New York.

 

j. James Eaves: Born about 1877 in New York.

 

k. Myron M. Eaves: Born 17 April 1879/80 in New York.  Died 22 March 1957, age 77, in Pitcairn Township, St. Lawrence County, New York; interred Sanford Corners Cemetery, Calcium, LeRay Township, Jefferson County, New York.

 

1905 NYS Census: Myron Eaves, age 26, resided as a boarder in a household on South Main Street in Rutland Township, Jefferson County, New York.  Abigal Eaves, age 21, was enumerated with him.  Of interest, the household headed by his brother, Henry Eaves, age 35, was heading a household enumerated on the same census page.

 

1910 US Census: Myron M. Eaves, age 31 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS) and employed as a house painter, was heading a household in the Village of Black River, Rutland Township, Jefferson County, New York.  He had been married once.  The household also included his wife of 6 years, Abbie E. Eaves, age 25 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS), who had been married once and had had no children; boarder, Joseph Emory, age 28 (b. French-speaking Canada; father b. Wales; mother b. English-speaking Canada), single, and employed as a laborer doing road work; and boarder, Peter Martzloff, age 31 (b. NYS; parents b. Germany), single, and employed as a laborer doing road work.

 

1918 WWI Draft Registration: Myron Eves, age 38 (b. 17 Apr 1880) and employed as a teamster for the St. Regis Paper Company of Black River, Rutland Township, Jefferson County, New York, resided with his wife, Abbie Eves, in the Village of Black River.

 

1920 US Census: Myron Eaves, age 39 (b. NYS; father b. England; mother b. NYS) and employed as a teamster in a paper mill, was heading a household on State Street toward crosing in the Village of Black River, Rutland Township, Jefferson County, New York.  The household also included his wife, Abbie Eaves, age 35 (b. NYS); son, Eden Eaves, age 5 (b. NY; parents b. NYS); and brother, Asa Eaves, age 37 (b. NYS; father b. England; mother b. NYS), single, and employed as a teamster doing private jobs.

 

1930 US Census: Myron Eves, age 43 (b. NYS; father b. England; mother b. NYS) and employed as a laborer for the City Water Works, resided in the household headed by his brother-in-law, Clair Grover, age 55 (b. NYS) and employed as a barber, on Main Street in Springwater Township, Livingston County, New York.  Myron married 1st at age 26.  Apart from Clair's family, the household also included Myron's son, Elden Eves, age 15 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS), single, and employed as a laborer for the City Water Works.

 

1940 US Census: Myron Eves, age 53 (b. NYS) and employed as a farm laborer, was heading a single-person household at Springwater, Springwater Township, Livingston County, New York.  He had completed 7th grade, and on 1 April 1935 he resided in the same township.

 

Myron Eaves married Abigail "Abbie" Eldridge (b. 1884, d. 1955; interred with Myron) and had the following son:

 

(1. Elden Eaves: Born about 1915 in New York.

 

l. Lenestrie/Asa Eaves: Born September 1884 in New York.

 

m. Ada Eaves: Born June 1885 in New York.

Born 9 September 1857 in Canada.  Died 17 January 1923 in New York.  Married Martin James Drake, paragraph 6.d.(6. of the Almond Drake (9) page on 14 February 1875 at Black River, Rutland Township, Jefferson County, New York.
