employed as a farmer, was heading a household in Ellisburg Township, Jefferson
County, New York. His real estate was
valued at $4,350 and his personal property was valued at $1,260. The household also included his wife, Rude
Emerson, age 43 (b. NYS); daughter, Francis Emerson, age 16 (b. NYS); daughter,
Ader Emerson, age 10 (b. NYS); daughter, Laury Emerson, age 3 (b. NYS); and laborer, Frank Batchelor, age 17 (b. NYS).
He resided next door to Betsy Emerson, age 75, and Caroline Emerson, age
45.

Ellisburg Township, Jefferson County, New York.
His real estate was valued at $6,300 and his personal property was
valued at $1,500. The household also
included his sister, Caroline Emerson, age 54 (b. VT) and keeping house;
daughter, Frances Emerson, age 26 (b. NY) and employed as a teacher; and
daughter, Laura Emerson, age 13 (b. NY) and in school.

Emerson, age 62 (b. VT) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household in
Ellisburg Township, Jefferson County, New York.
The household also included his daughter, Laura E. Emerson, age 18 (b.
Jefferson Co., NY); and boarder, Jacob Washburn, age 55 (b. Jefferson Co.,
NY). Of interest, the household headed
by Samuel Hinman, which included Albert Hinman, the eventual husband of Laura Emerson, was almost a
next door neighbor.

Married, as his 1st wife, Elias F. Spicer (b. 1 Feb 1845 in Jefferson
Co., NY, d. there 28 Mar 1916; interred Adams Rural Cem., Adams Twp, Jefferson
Co., NY), son of Nelson and Abbigail (Carley) Spicer, in 1868 and had the following daughter:

Elias Spicer married (2nd) Eva Irene Graves (b.
1853, d. 1926; interred with Elias) and had the following children:
