1905 VT Census: Harry W. Downing, age 28 (b. VT; parents b. VT) and employed as a rural mail carrier, was heading a household on the Corinth and East Orange Road in Washington Township, Orange County, Vermont.  The household also included his wife of 7 years, Louise E. Downing, age 32 (b. VT; parents b. VT), who had had 2 children, both still alive; son, Lloyd T. Downing, age 5 (b. VT); daughter, Lyle A. Downing, age 1 (b. VT); and servant, Lulu Pallant, age 19 (b. VT; father b. French Canada; mother b. VT).

 

1910 US Census: Harry W. Downing, age 28 (b. VT; parents b. VT) and employed as an RFD mail carrier, was heading a household on the Corinth and East Orange Road in Washington Township, Orange County, Vermont.  The household also included his wife of 7 years, Louise E. Downing, age 32 (b. VT; parents b. VT), who had had 2 children, both still alive; son, Lloyd T. Downing, age 5 (b. VT); daughter, Lyle A. Downing, age 1 (b. VT); and servant, Lulu E. 1920 US Census: Harry W. Downing, age 38 (b. VT) and employed as a mechanic in a garage, was heading a household at 39 Summer Street in Barre City, Washington County, Vermont.  The household also included his wife, Louise Downing, age 42 (b. VT); son, Lloyd Downing, age 14 (b. VT); and daughter, Lyle Downing, age 11 (b. VT).

1940 US Census: Lloyd Downing, age 35 (b. VT), single, and employed as proprietor and printer for a printing company, resided in the household headed by his mother, Louise Downing, age 62 (b. VT), widowed, and employed as a sales lady for a dress company, at 28 Beacon Street, Barre City, Barre Township, Washington County, Vermont.  Louise had completed 8th grade and Lloyd had completed 4 years of high school.  The value of their dwelling was $4,000.

1925 NYS Census: Florence C. Froome, age 13 (b. US), resided with her father and grandmother in Ward 10 of the City of Watertown, Jefferson County, New York.

NYS), who had completed 1 year of college; Alfred's step-son, Richard Froome, age 19 (b. NYS, single) and employed as a clerk for a retail grocery store, who had completed 6th grade; Alfred's step-son, Kenneth Froome, age 18 (b.
