1. Biographical notes:

 

Born 1 March 1883 in Alabama.  Died 20 September 1971, age 88, in Enterprise Township, Coffee County, Alabama.

 

1918 WWI Draft Registration: George T.? Glover, age 35 (b. 1 Mar 1883) and employed as a farmer, resided with his wife, Leila Glover, at RFD #1, Skipperville, Dale County, Alabama.  He designated Leila as his nearest relative.

 

1920 US Census: George Glover, age 37 (b. AL) and employed as a farm laborer, was heading a household in Clopton Township, Dale County, Alabama.  The household also included his wife, Eula L. Glover, age 26 (b. AL); daughter, Georgie P. Glover, age 2 years and 6 months (b. AL); and daughter, Lizzie I. Glover, age 2 months (b. AL).

 

1930 US Census: George Glover, age 46 (b. AL; parents b. AL) and employed as a laborer in a saw mill, was heading a household in Daleville Township, Dale County, Alabama.  He married 1st at age 24.  The household also included his wife, Eulala Glover, age 37 (b. AL; parents b. AL), who married 1st at age 16; daughter, Georgia P. Glover, age 12 (b. AL); daughter, Elizarene Glover, age 10 (b. AL); son, Gaines Glover, age 8 (b. AL); son, Robert L. Glover, age 6 (b. AL); daughter, Mabel Glover, age 4 (b. AL); son, Fred T. Glover, age 2 (b. AL).

 

1940 US Census: George Glover, age 56 (b. AL) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household in Coffee County, Alabama.  He had completed 1st grade.  The household also included his wife, Eulala Glover, age 46 (b. AL), who had completed 7th grade; son, Gaines Glover, age 18 (b. AL), with no record of employment, who had completed 2 years of high school; son, Robert Lee Glover, age 16 (b. AL), who had completed 2 years of high school; daughter, Mabel Glover, age 14 (b. AL); and son, Fred Glover, age 12 (b. AL).  On 1 April 1935 they resided in rural Dale County, Alabama.

 

2. Wife: Eulala "Eula" L./F. Tellis

 

Born 1894 in Alabama; daughter of James T. (b. Feb 1861) and Lizzie (?) Telles (b. Oct 1860).  Died 11 July 1946, age 52, in Enterprise Township, Coffee County, Alabama; interred there in the Johns Chapel AME Church Cemetery.

 

1900 US Census: James T. Tellis, age 39 (b. Feb 1861 in AL; father b. GA; mother b. AL) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household at Skipperville, Dale County, Alabama.  The household also included his wife of 19 years, Lizzie Tellis, age 39 (b. Oct 1860 in AL; parents b. AL) and employed as a farm laborer, who had had 7 children, all still alive; daughter, Carrie Tellis, age 17 (b. Jan 1883 in AL) and employed as a farm laborer; son, Shelly Tellis, age 14 (b. Dec 1885 in AL) and employed as a farm laborer; son, Fleming Tellis, age 13 (b. Feb 1887 in AL) and employed as a farm laborer; daughter, Tee Tellis, age 8 (b. Dec 1891 in AL) and employed as a farm laborer; daughter, Lulu F. Tellis, age 7 (b. Jan 1893 in AL); daughter, Benona Tellis, age 5 (b. Mar 1895 in AL); and daughter, Laurah Tellis, age 2 (b. Nov 1897 in AL).

a. Georgia P. Glover: Born about 1918 in Alabama.

d. Robert Lee Glover: Born about 1924 in Alabama.  At age 22 married Minnie Pearl Waters (b. 1928), age 18, daughter of Bus and Mary Lou (McKinzie) Waters, at Alabama City, Etowah County, Alabama.

 

e. Mabel Glover: Born about 1926 in Alabama.  At age 19 married David Cole (b. abt 1926), age 18, son of David and Mollie (Reese) Cole, on 23 December 1944 at Alabama City, Etowah County, Alabama.

1. Biographical notes:

 

Born 22 January 1928.  Died 13 July 2003, age 75, at Veterans Hospital, Tuskegee, Macon County, Alabama; interred Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Enterprise, Coffee County, Alabama.  Resided last in Coffee County, Alabama.

 

2. Wife #1: Anna "Annie" Beatrice Miller

 

a. Biographical notes:

 

Born about 1931 in Alabama; daughter of Jack Jackson.  At age 18 married Fred Glover, age 21, on 18 October 1949 at Enterprise, Chilton County, Alabama.

 

b. Children:

 

(1. Norris Glover: Born about 1951.  At age 22 married Alice Mae Carter, age 20, daughter of J. C. and Annie Mae (Jones) Carter, in 1973 at Livingston, Sumter County, Alabama (also seen: m. Montgomery Co., AL).

 

(2. Sylvia Alice Glover: Born about 1953.  At age 23 married Floyd Mathews, age 25, son of Floyd and C. Ellen (Goodwin) Mathews, in 1976 in Montgomery County, Alabama.

(4. Jeffrey Glover: Born 1959 in Alabama.  At age 23, while a resident of Enterprise, Alabama, married Anna "Annie" Viola Elam (b. 7 Jan 1963 in VA), age 19 and a resident of Richmond, Virginia, daughter of Charles Junius and Golden Elizabeth (Powell) Elam, on 1 February 1959 at Richmond, Virginia.

 

3. Wife #2: Annie (Scott) Reynolds

 

Born about 1936; daughter of Fred and Bertha Mae (Brascomb) Scott.  At age 51 married Fred Tellis Glover, age 59, on 11 July 1987 at Enterprise, Coffee County, Alabama.

 

2   Gloria Glover

 

Born about 1954 in Alabama.  Married Larry Donnell Shipman, generation 2 of the Shipman Annex in 1970.
