US Census: Leonard, age 58, b. NYS, employed as a farmer, was heading a
household in LeRay Township, Jefferson County, New York. The household also included (presumably) his
wife, Catharine Helmer (age 58, b. NYS); Robert Helmer (age 35); daughter, Patsy Helmer

headed by Simon Keller, age 32 (b. NYS) and employed as a farmer, in LeRay
Township (Evans Mills Post Office), Jefferson County, New York. Peter's real estate was valued at $5,200, and
his personal property was valued at $900.

Mills, LeRay Township, Jefferson County, New York. The household also included his wife of 19
years, Della J. Helmer (age 44, had had no children);
and servant, Fred Brown.
Peter D. Helmer married Adell “Della” J. Simonet, daughter of Louis and Melinda (Blanc) Simonet of Evans Mills in 1890
and initially resided at Boston, Massachusetts.
Soon after they moved back to LeRay Township, where Peter owned and
worked several farms. Peter and Della
had no children.
