Born 13 December 1892 at Hermosa, Sierra County, New Mexico.  Died 8 March 1959 at Tucson, Pima County, Arizona; interred South Lawn Memorial Park, Pima County, Arizona.

 

1900 US Census: Frank R. Hopkins, age 8 (b. Dec 1892) resided with his parents at Hermosa, Sierra County, New Mexico.

 

1910 US Census: Frankie Hopkins, age 17 (b. NM) resided in the household headed by his step-father, Charles W. Morris, at Globe, Gila County, Arizona Territory.

 

1917 WWI Draft Registration: Frank Rogers Hopkins [he signed the form as follows: Frank Roger Hopkins], age 27 (b. 13 Dec 1889 in Hermosa Precinct, NM) and employed as a smelterman for the International Smelting Company at Miami, Arizona, resided with his wife and 2 children on Grover Canon Street in Miami, Gila County, Arizona.

 

1920 US Census: Frank R. Hopkins, age 27 (b. NM; father b. OH; mother b. TX) and employed as a machinist in the automobile industry, was heading a household in Duncan Precinct, Greenlee County, Arizona.  The household also included his wife, Mary Hopkins, age 22 (b. AZ; parents b. GA); daughter, Loraine Hopkins, age 5 (b. AZ); daughter, Rollamae Hopkins, age 2 years and 5 months (b. AZ); and son, James Hopkins, age 1 months (b. AZ).

 

1930 US Census: Frank R. Hopkins, age 40 (b. NM; father b. OH; mother b. TX) and employed as an electrician for a contractor, was heading a household at 948 Penn Place in the City of Tucson, Pima County, Arizona.  He married 1st at age 24.  The household also included his wife, Mary E. Hopkins, age 32 (b. AZ; parents b. GA), who married 1st at age 18; daughter, Lorraine A. Hopkins, age 14 (b. AZ); daughter, Rollamae R. Hopkins, age 12 (b. AZ); son, James Hopkins, age 10 (b. AZ); son, Kenneth Hopkins, age 8 (b. AZ); and son, Henry Hopkins, age 2 years and 6 months (b. NM).

 

1940 US Census: Frank R. Hopkins, age 48 (b. NM) and employed as general foreman in the road construction industry, was heading a household on Presidio Road in Pima County, Arizona.  He had completed 4 years of college.  The household also included his wife, Mary Hopkins, age 41 (b. AZ), who had completed 8th grade; son, Kenneth E. Hopkins, age 18 (b. AZ), single, and , who had completed 8th grade; son, Donald  Hopkins, age 12 (b. NM), who had completed 5th grade; daughter, Phylis Mary J. Hopkins, age 8 (b. AZ), who had completed 3rd grade; and daughter, Mary Allisen Hopkins, age 7 (b. AZ), who had completed no education.  They all resided in the same county on 1 April 1935.

 

1942 WWII Draft Registration: Frank Roger Hopkins, age 49 (b. 13 Dec 1892 at Hermosa, NM) and employed by the Sundt Construction Company on an air base in Tucson, Arizona, resided with his wife, Mary Hopkins, at 3222 E. Bermuda, Tucson, Pima County, Arizona.

 

2. Wife: Mary L./Ella Stephens

 

Born 28 November 1896 at Safford, Graham County, Arizona; daughter of Levi Burl and Ella Elizabeth (Cochran) Stephens.  Died 28 April 1960 at Tucson, Pima County, Arizona; interred with Frank.  Married Frank Hopkins on 13 May 1914 at Duncan, Greenlee County, Arizona.

 

3. Children:

 

a. Margurite Lorine Hopkins: (name formally changed 19 Feb 1976 to Loraine Alice Hopkins, based on (1) Loraine's 6 Feb 1976 application to that effect, (2) the name she used 26 Apr 1965 to purchase life insurance, and (3) her 6 Aug 1943 application for a social security account)

 

Born 13 June 1915 (5:30 PM) at Duncan, Greenlee County, Arizona.  Died 4 November 1979 at Tucson, Prima County, Arizona; interred South Lawn Memorial Park, Tucson, Pima County, Arizona.  Married Terry R. Boyd and had the following children:

 

(1. Alice Boyd: Born about 1933 in Arizona.

 

(2. Omer L. Boyd: Born about 1934 in Arizona.

 

(3. Frank W. Boyd: Born about 1936 in Arizona.

 

(4. Terry R. Boyd, Jr.: Born 20 February 1937 at Tucson, Pima County, Arizona.  Died 25 March 2013 at Blue Springs, Jackson County, Missouri; interred South Lawn Memorial Cemetery, Tucson, Pima County, Arizona.  Married Thelma (?) and had the following children:

 

(a. Kim Ortiz Boyd: Married (?) Clark.

 

(b. Darren Boyd.

 

(5. Emerson "Buster" Lee Boyd: Born 7 February 1934 at Tucson, Pima County, Arizona.  Died 9 March 1999 at Baton Rouge, Louisiana; interred Plaquemine, Iberville Parish, Louisiana.  Married, as her 1st husband, Marty Grace Mickna, daughter of Joseph J. and Emma (Slater)(Rockwood) Mickna.

 

Loraine (Hopkins) Boyd subsequently resided with (not married to) Joseph J. Mickna (b. 3 Apr 1908 in NYS, d. 28 Aug 1996 at Tucson, Pima Co., AZ), whose step-daughter, Virginia Ellen Rockwood, married Loraine's brother, Henry "Hank" Donald Hopkins, and whose daughter, Marty Grace Mickna, married (1st) Loraine's son, Emerson "Buster" Boyd.

 

b. Ruth Rolla Mae Hopkins: Born 1 June 1917 at Duncan, Greenlee County, Arizona.  Died April 1982/December 1981 at New Orleans, Orleans County, Louisiana.

 

c. James Cecil Hopkins: Born 10 November 1919 at Duncan, Greenlee County, Arizona.  Died July 1984 at Reseda, Los Angeles County, California.  Married (?) and had at least the following son:

 

(1. Bill Lee Hopkins: Born 7 February 1944 at Tucson, Pima County, Arizona.  Died the same day; interred Evergreen Cemetery, Pima County, Arizona.

 

d. Unnamed Twin: Born 2 December 1921 in Duncan Township, Greenlee County, Arizona.  Died there the same day.

 

e. Kenneth E. Hopkins: Twin.  Born 2 December 1921 in Duncan Township, Greenlee County, Arizona.

 

f. Henry Donald Hopkins: See generation 1, below.

 

g. Phyllis Mary J. Hopkins: Born about 1932 in Arizona.

 

h. Mary Allisen Hopkins: Born about 1933 in Arizona.

Born 27 October 1927 in New Mexico.  Died 8 March 2009 at Rathdrum, Kootenai County, Idaho.  Was a rodeo contestant before marriage.  Married Virginia Ellen Rockwood, descendant #2.1 of generation 8 of the Descendants of Martha Hazel-Mae (Cool)(Slater)(Finney) Smith on 7 April 1951 at Nogales, Santa Cruz County, Arizona.
