1. Biographical notes:
Born 23 May 1804 at Canterbury, Kent, England. Died 6 April
1851 in Alexandria Township, Jefferson County, New York; interred Brookside
Cemetery, Plessis, Jefferson County. Was age 28 and a skilled wood worker residing at Canterbury
when John Lafarge, founder of Lafargeville, Jefferson County, New York, sent
for him to work on a mansion he was building at Lafargeville. Leaving his wife and 3 children behind,
George landed at New York City on 27 September 1832 and proceeded to
Lafargeville. Worked there for a little
more than 3 years when he had saved enough to send for his wife and children. Initially resided near his work on the LaFarge mansion, but eventually purchased a 35-acre farm at
Tanners Corners on the Plessis to Lafargeville Road.
Following the death of his wife, moved to reside with his son, George
Rose Hunneyman in northern New York State.
1850 US Census: Mary Honeyman, age 43 (b. England),
was heading a household in Alexandria Township, Jefferson County, New
York. Her real estate was valued at
$600. The household also included her
son, George Honeyman, age 24 (b. England) and employed as a carpenter &
joiner; daughter, Eliza Honeyman, age 19 (b. England); son, William Honey man,
age 10 (b. NYS); and father, Richard Rose, age 71 (b. England) and employed as
a farmer.
1860 US Census: Mary Honeyman, age 53 (b. England)
and widowed, was heading a household in Alexandria Township (Plessis Post

Wallace C. Decker of Theresa, Jefferson County, on 23 October 1912 in Jefferson
County, New York and had the following children:

Evans Mills, LeRay Township, Jefferson County, New York. Died 11 October 1956 at Watertown, Jefferson
County, New York; interred Clayton Village Cemetery, Clayton Township,

(b. Catherine Eleanore/Elnora Hunneyman: Born 25 October 1914 at Evans
Mills, LeRay Township, Jefferson County, New York. Died 22 January 1993 in
Byron Township, Genesee County, New York. Married James Comins
and resided at St. Lawrence.
(c. Erle
Snell Hunneyman, Jr.: Born 13 November 1916 at Black River, Rutland/LeRay
Township, Jefferson County, New York.
Died 11 August 2003, age 86, at Mercy of Northern New York (subsequently
closed), Watertown, Jefferson County, New York;
interred Evans Mills Cemetery, LeRay Township, Jefferson County, New York. Attended rural and Lafargeville High
School. Employed as a
farmer on Fox Hill Road, Clayton Township, Jefferson County, retiring in 1987. Veteran of US Army from 1935 to 1957, serving
during World War II (by one account served in the US Navy). Married (1st) Virginia (?) and had
the following daughter:
(1) Janet I. Hunneyman: Married Frank K. LeFleur and had 2 daughters.

divorced. Erle
married (2nd) Ruby (?), but they were subsequently divorced. Erle married (3rd) Pauline Rosa (Garnsey) McFadden (b. 18 Feb 1911 on Grindstone Island,

on 4 May 1964 at the First Baptist Church, Clayton, Clayton Township, Jefferson County, New York.
Pauline had married (1st) William Oliver McFadden (b. 15 May 1899 in
NYS, d. 21 Apr 1953).
(d. Violet Ida Hunneyman: Born 1 May 1919 at
Lafargeville, Orleans Township, Jefferson County, New
York. Died there Saturday, 19 February
1938, age 18, from complications of a heart ailment; interred Clayton
Cemetery. Attended

Hunneyman: Born 15 July 1920 at LaFargeville, Orleans Township, Jefferson
County, New York. Died 26 February 2013 in
Batavia Township, Genesee County, New York; interred Byron Township, Genesee
County, New York. Veteran
of World War II; served in the Army Air Corps. Self employed as a carpenter. Married Jean Ruth Chapell
(b. 30 Dec 1928 in Byron Twp, Genesee Co., NY, d. 25/24 May 2005 in Rochester
Twp, Ulster Co., NY; interred with Harley) of Byron, Genesee County, New York
on 20 December 1952 at Byron, and settled at Stafford, Genesee County, New
York. Harley and Jean had the following

(1) Gary Lee Hunneyman: Born 1956 at Batavia,
Genesee County, New York. In 2015 resided in North Carolina. Married Ginger Cole of
Holley, Murray Township, Orleans County, New York; subsequently divorced; no
children.
(2) Craig Harley Hunneyman: Born 1957 at Batavia,
Genesee County, New York. In 2013 resided in California. Married Carol Rymarczyk
and had the following son:

Hunneyman: Born 2000 at Huntington Beach, Orange County, California.
(3) Mark Alan Hunneyman: Born 1959 at Batavia, Genesee County,
New York. In 2013 resided in New
York. Never married; no children.

Born 1 July 1922 at LaFargeville, Orleans Township, Jefferson County, New
York. Died 15 April
1998 in Clayton Township, Jefferson County, New York. Married (?) Dollinger,
daughter of Howard N. and Viola M. (Baltz) Dollinger (b. 10 Jul 1916).
(g. Lyle Edgar Hunneyman:
Born 3 November 1924 at LaFargeville, Orleans Township, Jefferson County, New
York. Died Thursday, 12 June 2003, age
78, at Marion County Medical Center, Mullins Township, Marion
County, South Carolina; interred Cedardale Cemetery,
Mullins. Graduated
from Clayton High School in 1944.
Employed as a firefighter, both in New York and South
Carolina. Married
