1900 US Census: Thomas Johnson, age 54 (b. 1865 in
NC) and employed as a civil engineer, was heading a household in Salisbury
Township, Rowan County, North Carolina.
The household also included his wife of 8 years, Jennie K. Johnson, age
42 (b. Jul 1857 in NC), who had had 5 children, 3 of whom were still alive;
son, Thomas P. Johnson, age 6 (b. Oct 1893 in NC); son, Ralph R. Johnson, age 5
(b. Mar 1894 NC); and son, Robert K. Johnson, age 6 months (b. Dec 1899 NC).

police force, was heading a household at 111 West Kerr Street in Salisbury
Township, Rowan County, North Carolina.
His residence was valued at $6,000.
The household also included his wife, Margaret Johnston, age 28 (b. NC;
parents b. NC); son, Robert K. Johnston, Jr., age 3 years and 11 months (b.
NC); daughter, Charlotte Johnston, age 2 years and 9 months (b. NC); father,
