1855 NYS Census: Gayes Kentfield, age 36 (b. VT) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household in Brownville Township, Jefferson County, New York.  He had resided there for 3 years.  The household also included his wife, Nancy Kentfield, age 23 (b. VT), who had resided in Brownville Township for 5 years; and son, Warren Kentfield, age 1 (b. Jefferson Co., NY).

 

1860 US Census: Garris Kentfield, age 40 (b. NYS) and employed as a laborer, was heading a household in Pamelia Township, Jefferson County, New York.  The household also included his wife, Ann Kentfield, age 30 (b. Ireland); son, Warren Kentfield, age 8 (b. NYS); son, Clinton Kentfield, age 5 (b. NYS); and Lucinda Ball, age 22 (b. NYS) and employed as a teacher.

VT) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household in a log home in Brownville Township, Jefferson County, New York.  The household also included his wife, Mary Kentfield, age 30 (b. Ireland); son, Warren D. Kentfield, age 21 (b. Jefferson Co., NY), single, and employed working on the farm; and son, George C. Kentfield, age 19 (b. Jefferson Co., NY) and single (no employment mentioned).

1880 US Census: Warren Cenifield, age 25 (b. NYS) and employed as a farm laborer, resided in the household headed by Amasa E. Dodge, age 30 (b. NYS) and employed as a farmer, in Clayton Township, Jefferson County, new York.  Apparently under the same roof, Fannie Kentfield, age 21 (b. NYS) was heading a household which also included her son, Roy Kentfield, age 1 (b. NYS).

 

1900 US Census: Warren Kentfield, age 43 (b. Nov 1857 in NYS; parents b. NYS) and employed as a paper maker, was heading a household in Brownville Township, Jefferson County, New York.  The household also included his wife of 22 years, Fannie Kentfield, age 40 (b. Sep 1859 in NYS; parents b. NYS), who had had 7 children, 5 of whom were still alive; son, Roy Kentfield, age 21 (b. Oct 1879 in NYS); son, Frank D. Kentfield, age 20 (b. Oct 1880 in NYS); son, Harry Kentfield, age 15 (b. Feb 1885 in NYS); daughter, Inez Kentfield, age 10 (b. Feb 1890 in NYS); and daughter, Hazel Kentfield, age 10 months (b. Nov 1899 in NYS).

Kentfield, age 5; and daughter, Inez F. Kentfield, age 15.

 

Warren Kentfield married Fannie M. (?) (b. 1860, d. 1925; interred with Warren)and had the following children:

1905 NYS Census: Roy Kentfield, age 26, was heading a household in Brownville Township, Jefferson County, New York.  The household also included his wife, Gertrude Kentfield, age 26.

 

1910 US Census: Roy C. Kentfield, age 31 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household on Brownville Road in Brownville Township, Jefferson County, New York.  The household also included his wife of 6 years, Gertrude Kentfield, age 31 (b. NYS; parents b. Germany), who had had no children.

 

1915 NYS Census: Roy C. Kentfield, age 35, was heading a household in Brownville Township, Jefferson County, New York.  The household also included his wife Gertrude Kentfield, age 34.

 

1920 US Census: Roy Kentfield, age 40 (b.  NYS; parents b. NYS) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household on Brown Place Road in Brownville Township, Jefferson County, New York.  The household also included his wife, Gertrude Kentfield, age 40 (b. NYS; parents b. Bavaria).

 

1925 NYS Census: Roy G. Kentfield, age 46, was heading a household in Brownville Township, Jefferson County, New York.  The household also included his wife, Gertrude Kentfield, age 46.

 

1940 US Census: Roy Kentfield, age 61 (b. NYS) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household on Route 4 in Brownville Township, Jefferson County, New York.  He had completed 6th grade and had resided in the same house in April 1935.  The household also included his wife, Gertrude Kentfield, age 61 (b. NYS), who had completed 1 year of high school.

 

Roy Kentfield married Gertrude (?) and apparently did not have children.

NYS) and employed as a farm hand, was heading a household in LeRay Township, Jefferson County, New York.  The household also included his wife, Charlott Kentfield, age 20 (b. Canada; parents b. Canada); daughter, Eva Kentfield, age 2 (b. NYS); and son, Louis Kentfield, age 3 months (b. NYS).

1925 NYS Census: Edgar Covey, age 52, was heading a household in Brownville Township, Jefferson County, New York.  The household also included his wife, Eva M. Covey, age 47; daughter, Dorothy Covey, age 13; and father-in-law, Clinton Kentfield, age 69.

 

Eva married (1st) George W. Hubbs (b. 24 Oct 1909 at Cooperstown, NY, d. 21 Mar 1909), son of William S. and Priscilla (?) Hubbs, about 1897 and raised the following foster child:

Born 13 September 1890 at Black River, Rutland Township, Jefferson County, New York.  Died April 1964; interred Dexter Cemetery, Dexter, Brownville Township, Jefferson County.  Employed as a printer.

1925 NYS Census: Arthur Kentfield, age 34, was heading a household in Ward 5 of the City of Watertown, Jefferson County, New York.  The household also included his wife, Carrie Kentfield, age 29; daughter, Helen Kentfield, age 8; daughter, Lerta J. Kentfield, age 3; and daughter, Gloria B. Kentfield, less than 1 year old.

 

1930 US Census: Arthur Kentfield, age 39 (b. NYS; father b. NYS; mother b. English-speaking Canada) and employed as an auto mechanic in his own shop, was heading a household at 120 South Orchard Street in the City of Watertown, Jefferson County, New York.  He rented his dwelling and was married 1st at age 25.  The household also included his wife, Carrie Kentfield, age 34 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS), who was married 1st at age 20; daughter, Helen Kentfield, age 12 (b. NYS); daughter, Leta Kentfield, age 8 (b. NYS); and daughter, Gloria Kentfield, age 5 (b. NYS).

 

1940 US Census: Arthur Kentfield, age 49 (b. NYS) and employed as a mechanic in a garage, was heading a household at 425 East Main Street in the City of Watertown, Jefferson County, New York.  He resided in the same town in April 1935 and had completed 2 years of high school.  The household also included his wife, Terry [should be Carrie] Kentfield, age 44 (b. NYS), who had completed 4 years of high school; daughter, Helen Everett, age 22 (b. NYS), who had completed 8th grade, was not employed, and apparently had been married [M for married had line drawn through it]; daughter, Leita Everett, age 18 (b. NYS) and single; and daughter, Gloria Everett, age 15 (b. NYS) and single.
