widowed, with no occupation recorded, was heading a household on Main Street in
the Village of Evan Mills, LeRay Township, Jefferson County, New York. She had completed 2 years of high school. The household also included her son, David L.
Kinney, age 14 (b. NYS), who had completed 5th grade; daughter, Carolynn F.
Kinney, age 10 (b. NYS), who had completed 8th grade; and boarder, Carmen J.
Sheets, age 65 (b. Canada) and employed as nigh foreman in a milk factory, who
had completed 1 year of high school and was a naturalized citizen of the
US. The Kinneys
resided in the same township on 1 April 1935; Carmen Sheets resided elsewhere
in Jefferson County.

Born 16 August 1929 at home on LeRay Street in the City of Watertown, Jefferson
County, New York. (Of interest:
Carolynn's mother was going to name her Carol Lynn Kinney, but Carolynn's
grandmother Burnham said to her daughter: "I don't know why you don't give
her my name." So, as a compromise,
Carolynn's mother combined Carol and Lynn in the first name and made the middle
name Frances. Moved
with her parents to LaFargeville, Jefferson County. Carolynn married (1st) George William Signor
(b. 14 Mar 1926, d. 10/8 Jan 1982 at home in Rochester (in the garage after
clearing snow with a snow blower) from a heart attack) of Watertown in 1948. George was a veteran of World War II, and
after the war he couldn't find employment in northern New York, so he and
Carolynn and their baby moved to Rochester, Monroe County, New York, where
Carolynn's sister lived. Initially employed there at Rochester Products. Subsequently employed at Baush
& Lomb, but was laid off, so George became a policeman in Rochester. George and Carolynn had the following
children:
(1. Dale William Signor: Born 1949 at Claxton
Hepburn Hospital, Ogdensburg, St. Lawrence County, New York, while his parents
were on vacation.
(2. Mark Wayne Signor: Born 1952 at (probably Strong
Memorial Hospital) Rochester, Monroe County, New York.
(3. Donna Marie Signor: Born 1955 at (probably
Strong Memorial Hospital) Rochester, Monroe County, New York. In 2013 resided in Florida.
Following his death, Carolynn (Kinney) married
(2nd), as his 2nd wife, Walter "Walt" Higgins Ford (d. in FL from
complications of esophageal cancer (had been a heavy smoker)) of Hoosic Falls, Rensselaer County, New York, who worked as an
engineer with Joseph Aubrey Kinney, Jr. at General Railway Signal and met Carolynn via that
relationship. Following Walt's death
Carolynn was very close to Nick (?) of Dade City for 15 years (who she met
through square dancing), until Nick's death.
