Township, Jefferson County, New York, daughter of Godfrey and Alice (Walrath) Lortscher, who also had
daughter, Anna (Lortscher) Lohr,
a resident of Binghamton, Broome County, New York. Died , age 63, at the House of the Good Samaritan Hospital,
Watertown, Jefferson County, New York; interred Evans Mills Cemetery.

Married Madelyn Lawton,
daughter of Edwin Lawton of Evans Mills, on 8 September 1934 at the First
Presbyterian Church, Carthage, Jefferson County, New York and subsequently
resided in the Village of Evans Mills in an apartment in the building housing
the heating, electric, and plumbing business and hardware store he
operated. Vilas and Madelyn had the
following children:

Cornell University, Ithaca, New York. He was subsequently employed as a farmer.

age 45, who had completed 2 years of high school; daughter, Marie Lingenfelter, age 20, single, and employed as a
stenographer, who had completed 1 year of college; son, Louis Lingenfelter, age 13, who had completed 7th
grade; and son, Raymond Lingenfelter, age 9, who had
completed 3rd grade.
