Street in the City of Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan.  The household also included her son, George Loosemore, age 30 (b. England) and employed as a drover and son, Louis Loosemore, age 19 (b. England) and employed as a farmer.

1. Biographical notes:

 

Born January 1852 in England.  Died 1909; interred Woodmere Cemetery, Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan.  Immigrated from England to the United States in 1865; subsequently naturalized.

 

1880 US Census: Lewis Loosemore, age 27 (b. England) and employed as a railroad engineer, was heading a household at 145 S. Fleenth Street in the City of Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan.  The household also included his wife, Mary E. Loosemore, age 22 (b. MI); and son, Lewis Loosemore, age 1 (b. MI).

 

1900 US Census: Lewis Loosemore, age 48 (b. Jan 1852 in England; parents b. England) and employed as a butcher, was heading a household at 155 Welch Avenue in the City of Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan.  The household also included his wife of 22 years, Nellie Loosemore, age 42 (b. Jul 1857 in MI; parents b. MI), who had had 7 children, 6 of whom were still alive; son, Lewis L. Loosemore, age 21 (b. Sep 1878 in MI), single, and employed as a breakman; daughter, Viola R. Loosemore, age 19 (b. Apr 1881 in MI) and single, with no occupation recorded; son, Hiram J. Loosemore, age 12 (b. Jul 1887 in MI); son, Earle W. Loosemore, age 5 (b. Aug 1894 MI); daughter, Gladys V. Loosemore, age 3 (b. May 1897 in MI); and boarder, Christopher Woods, age 55 (b. Apr 1845 in Germany; parents b. Germany) and employed as a laborer for the railroad, who was immigrated to the US in 1855; subsequently naturalized.
