Mahaffey, age 30 (b. IL); daughter, Ellen O. Mahaffee,
age 6 (b. IL; and son, John Mahaffee, age 1 (b. IL).
1900 US Census: Wm W. Mahaffey, age 59 (b. Jun 1840
in TN; father b. NC; mother b. TN) and employed as a farmer, was heading a
household in Welch Township, Cape Girardeau County, Missouri. The household also included his wife of 28
years, Emeline Mahaffey, age 49 (b. Sep 1850 in IL;
father b. KY; mother b. IL), who had had 7 children, 4 of whom were still
alive; son, John Mahaffey, age 21 (b. Dec 1878 in IL) and single; daughter,
Melissa Mahaffey, age 18 (b. Sep 1881 in IL) and single; and daughter, Katie L.
