November 1928 at Manchester, Kingsbury County, South Dakota; interred there in
the Manchester Cemetery. Initially employed as a farmer in Missouri. About 1881 moved his family to Grinnell,
Iowa. In 1884 moved to a farm homestead
near Ree Heights, South Dakota. In 1910 moved to Manchester, South Dakota,
where he and his daughter, May operated a store.
2. Wife: Elizabeth Melvina Lennox
Born 4 January 1853 at Humansville, Polk County,
Missouri. Died Monday, 9 January 1939 (age 86 years, 5
days), in the Order of Eastern Star Home, Redfield, Spink County, South Dakota;
interred Manchester Cemetery, Manchester, Kingsbury County, South Dakota. Married William Henry
Maxwell on 21 May 1871 in Humansville, Missouri. Following William's death in 1929, Elizabeth
resided with two daughters until late 1938, when she moved to the Order of
Easter Star Home at Redfield, South Dakota.
