1870 US Census: J. H. Palmer, age 55 (b. IL) and employed
as a farmer, was heading a household in West Fork Township, Washington County,
Arkansas. His real estate was valued at

1. Biographical notes:
Born 30 May 1875 at Pine Bluff, Jefferson County,
Arkansas. Died 3 May 1954 in Hamilton County, Texas;
from complications of injuries received in an automobile accident; interred Hico Cemetery, Hico, Hamilton
County, Texas. Employed
as a farmer. Was driving a
Studebaker coupe automobile with his 2nd wife and youngest child, Robert Wayne
Palmer, when an approaching, intoxicated driver caused a head-on collision,
killing his wife immediately and inflicting life threatening injuries to himself. His son
broke both legs and was hospitalized for several months, but fully recovered
physically. Then an invalid, Houston was
cared for by his daughter, Vesta, and her family
until his death several months later.

resided with his parents in Williamson County, Texas.
