1. Biographical notes:
Born 1642 on the Isle of Jersey, France. Died after 6 September 1719 at Staten Island,
Richmond County, New York; interred there in Stonybrook
Cemetery. Was a French Huguenot who left
France in April 1665 from a port on the Isle of Jersey aboard the sailing ship
“Philip” captained by Governor Philip Carteret, which landed in New York Harbor
on 29 July 1665. Initially settled in a
community established by Governor Carteret called the Elizabethtowne
Plantations, which was later became Elizabeth and Elizabethport,
New Jersey.
Following marriage in early 1666, moved to Smoking Point on the western
shore of Staten Island, New York (opposite Elizabethtown, NJ) and settled on
about 80 acres eventually granted to him in 1695 by Governor Benjamin Fletcher
on behalf of the Crown. Sold his
property there in 1696 and thereafter resided with relatives on Staten Island.

1940 US Census: Clayton Perrine, age 34 (b. MI) and
employed as a truck driver for the county, was heading a household in Leslie
Township, Ingham County, Michigan. The
household also included his wife, Rena Perrine, age 34 (b. MI); son, Lester
Perrine, age 12 (b. MI); daughter, Edna Perrine, age 8 (b. MI); and son, Robert
Perrine, age 4 (b. MI). They all resided
in the same township in April 1935.
Clayton Perrine married, as her 1st husband, Rena M. Townsend (b. 16 Oct
1905 in White Oak Twp, MI, d. 28 Jul 2000; interred Jones Cem., Jackson Twp,
Jackson Co., MI), daughter of Ned and Nora (Grimes) Townsend, on 1 January 1925
in White Oak Township, Ingham County, Michigan (license issued 31 Dec 1924) and
had the following children:
(1. Lester E. Perrine: Born about 1928 in Michigan.
(2. Edna Perrine: Born about 1932 in Michigan.
(3. Robert Perrine: Born about 1936 in Michigan.

Jackson High School, Jackson, Michigan.

parents b. MI) and employed as a salesman, was heading a household on Jackson
Street in the Village of Dansville, Ingham County, Michigan. He was married 1st at age 23. The household also included his wife, Eula M.
Perrine, age 24 (b. MI; parents b. MI) and employed as a public school teacher,
who was married 1st at age 23.
1940 US Census: Leland Perrine, age 33 (b. MI) and
employed as a salesman of wholesale baked goods, was heading a household at 653
Griswold Street in the City of Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan. He had completed 4 years of high school, and
his residence was valued at $5,000. The
household also included his wife, Eula Perrine, age 34 (b. MI), who had
completed 1 year of college; son, Leland Perrine, age 8 (b. MI); daughter,
Barbara Perrine, age 5 (b. MI); and daughter, Louise Perrine, age 1 (b.
MI). Those alive in April 1935 resided
in the same City.
Leland Perrine married Eula M. (?) and had the
following children:

Michigan.

Junction, Rives Township, Jackson County, Michigan. Died 23 June 1988 in Hillsborough County, Florida;
interred there in Prattville Cemetery.
Completed 8th grade in a 1-room country grammar school. Completed 10th grade at Jackson
High School, Jackson, Michigan. Married
Harriett L. Perrine (b. abt 1910, d. 17 Jan 2008, age 98; interred with Merlin),
daughter of Alfred P. and Carrie (Bell) Emens, on 23
June 1945 at Hillsdale Arboretum and had the following son:
