1900 US Census: Moses Pete, age 30 (b. May 1870 in Fr. Canada) and employed as a day laborer, was heading a household in Gouverneur Township, St. Lawrence County, New York.  He and other foreign-born members of his household immigrated to the United States in 1893.  The household also included his wife of 13 years, Halvin Pete, age 30 (b. Jun 1870 in Fr. Canada), who had had 7 children, 6 of whom were still alive; daughter, Mary Pete, age 12 (b. Nov 1887 in Fr. Canada); son, Moses Pete, age 11 (b. Apr 1889 in Fr. Canada); son, Jeddie Pete, age 7 (b. Jun 1892 in Fr. Canada); son, Tenos Pete, age 6 (b. Feb 1894 in NYS); son, Emory Pete, age 3 (b. Jun 1896 in NYS); and daughter, Rosanna Pete, age 1 (b. Fr. Canada; parents b. Fr. Canada), who immigrated to the United States in 1898 and had had 12 children, 9 of whom were still alive; daughter, Delia Pete, age 9 (b. NYS); daughter, Rose Pete, age 11 (b. NYS); son, Edmere Pete, age 5 (b. NYS); daughter, Ena Pete, age 3 (b. NYS); son, Leo Pete, age 1 year and 5 months (b. NYS); son Tenos Pete, age 15 (b. NYS) and single; son, Emery Pete, age 14 (b. NYS) and single; and son, Jeddy Pete, age 18 (b. Fr. Canada) and single, who immigrated to the United States in 1895 and was not employed.

 

1915 NYS Census: Moses S. Pete, age 48, was heading a household in Wilna Township, Jefferson County, New York.

 

1920 US Census: Moses Pete, age 53 (b. Fr. Canada; parents b. Fr. Canada) and employed as a dairy farmer, was heading a household on Sterlingville Road in Wilna Township, Jefferson County, New York.  He immigrated to the United States in 1890.  The household also included his wife, Levine Pete, age 52 (b. Canada), who immigrated to the United States in 1890; daughter, Delia Pete, age 16 (b. NYS) and single; daughter, Edna Pete, age 15 (b. NYS); daughter, Lena Pete, age 13 (b.  NYS); daughter, Beatrice Pete, age 12 (b. NYS); and son, Leo Pete, age 9 (b. NYS).

1910 US Census: Moses J. Pete, age 20 (b. Fr. Canada; parents b. Fr. Canada) and employed as a dairy farmer, was heading a household in Antwerp Township, Jefferson County, New York.  He immigrated to the United States in 1890.  The household also included his wife of 2 years, Ruby I. Pete, age 17 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS), who had had 1 child, still alive; son, Clifton J. Pete, age 6 months; and servant, Flora Trim, age 16 (b. NYS).

 

1915 NYS Census: Moses J. Pete, age 26, was heading a household in Antwerp Township, Jefferson County, New York.

 

1925 NYS Census: Moses J. Pete, age 35 (b. Canada), was heading a household in Orleans Township, Jefferson County, New York.

 

Moses J. Pete married (1st) Ruby Dailey, daughter of Henry and Ellen (Lane) Dailey, on 16 November 1908; subsequently divorced (28 Mar 1930 at Oneonta, NY).  Moses and Ruby had the following son:

Moses James Pete married (2nd) Doris Ella Davis (b. 26 Aug 1909), daughter of Perl L. and Ada (Alexander) Davis, on 25 September 1933.

Born 6 June 1896 at Natural Dam, Gouverneur Township, St. Lawrence County, New York.  Died 1939; interred Riverside Cemetery, Gouverneur, St. Lawrence County, New York.

 

1920 US Census: Emery Pete age 23 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS) and employed as an electrician for the electric light company, was heading a household at 54 Parker Stree in Gouverneur, St. Lawrence County, New York.  The household also include his wife, Eva Pete, age 21 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS); son, Douglas Pete, age 1 year and 8 months (b. NYS); and sister, Rose Pete, age 21 (b. NYS), single, and employed as a mender for a lace manufacturing company.

 

1930 US Census: Emery A. Pete, age 32 (b. NYS; parents b. Fr. Canada) and employed as a cook in a restaurant, was heading a household at 32 Church Street in Gouverneur, St. Lawrence County, New York.  He married 1st at age 18.  The household also included his wife, Eva M. Pete, age 30 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS), who married 1st at age 16; son, Douglas E. Pete, age 12 (b. NYS); and son, Donald R. Pete, age 8 (b. NYS).

Born 1899 at Ogdensburg, St. Lawrence County, New York; daughter of David Louis and Minnie Jeanette (Clark) McCartha.  Died .  Married Emery Arthur Pete on 14 July 1917 (license issue same date) in New York.

 

1940 US Census: Eva M. Pete, age 40 (b. NYS), widowed, and employed as owner of a restaurant, was heading a household in Gouverneur, St. Lawrence County, New York.  She had completed 8th grade, and her house was valued at $3,500.  The household also included her son, Donald R. Pete, age 18 (b. NYS), single, and employed as a cook in a restaurant, who had completed 3 years of high school; roomer, Elizabeth K. Coffey, age 18 (b. NYS), single, and employed as a waitress in a restaurant, who had completed 3 years of high school; and roomer, Juanita M. Lalone, age 31 (b. NYS), single, and employed as  a waitress in a restaurant, who had completed 8th grade.
