1910 US Census: John J. Ring, age 27 (b. CT; parents b. Austria) and employed as a merchant (retail grocery store), was heading a household at 2222 Fifth Avenue in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.  He had been married once.  The household also included his wife of 4 years, Mary J. Ring, age 28 (b. OH; parents b. OH), who had been married once and had had 3 children, 1 of whom was still alive; daughter, Mary B. Ring, age 6 months (b. PA; father b. CT; mother b. OH); and brother, Felix M. Ring, age 17 (b. CT; parents b. Austria), single, and employed as a salesman for a retail grocery store.

 

1920 US Census: John J. Ring, age 35 (b. Austria-Hungary; parents b. Austria-Hungary) and employed as a waiter in a restaurant, was heading a household at 1354 Vickroy Street in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.  He immigrated to the US in 1884.  The household also included his wife, Mary I. Ring, age 35 (b. OH; father b. Ireland; mother b. OH); daughter, Mary B. Ring, age 10 (b. PA); son, John J. Ring, age 7 (b. PA); son, Paul D. Ring, age 6 (b. PA); and son, Leopold A. Ring, age 3 years and 6 months (b. PA).

 

1930 US Census: John J. Ring, age 46 (b. Austria-Vienna; father b. Austria-Vienna; mother b. Austria-German) and employed as a caterer for a restaurant, was heading a household at 3219 Ward Street in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.  He immigrated to the US in 1884 (subsequently naturalized), and he married 1st at age 22.  The household also included his wife, Mary Ring, age 46 (b. OH), who married 1st at age 22; daughter, Mary I. Ring, age 20 (b. PA), single, and employed as a stenographer for an insurance company; son, John J. Ring, Jr., age 18 (b. PA), single, and employed as an auto mechanic for a department store; son, Donald Rinig, age 16 (b. PA); son, Leopold Ring, age 13 (b. PA); nephew, Walter Dziekiewiez, age 25 (b. RI; parents b. Austria-Vienna), single, and employed as a caterer for a restaurant; and nephew, Harry Deskin, age 10 (b. OH; parents b. OH) and not employed.

Austria) and employed as a laborer for an auto repair shop, was heading a household at 352 Semple Street in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.  He had completed 2 years of college.  The household also included his wife, Mary I. Ring, age 55 (b. OH), who had completed 8th grade; son-in-law, Martin J. O'Toole, age 31 (b. PA) and employed as a compensation reporter in a claims department, who had completed 2 years of college; daughter, Mary B. O'Toole, age 30 (b. PA), who had completed 4 years of high school; granddaughter, Mary O'Toole, age 3 (b. PA); grandson, Joseph O'Toole, age 2 (b. PA); nephew, Walter Ziebiewiez, age 36 (b. RI), single, and employed as a waiter in a private club, who had completed 8th grade; and nephew, Harry J. Deskin, age 20 (b. PA), single, and employed as an usher for a picture theatre, who had completed 4 years of high school.  They resided in the same city on 1 April 1935.  Walter and Harry resided in the same house.

Ring: Born 20 July 1916 in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.  Died 26 April 1972 in Pennsylvania; interred Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery, Monroeville, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.  Married Mary Agnes Willis (b. 31 Dec 1918 in PA, d. 5 Feb 2006, age 87, at Irwin, Westmoreland Co., PA; interred with Leopold), daughter of Charles Otha and Mary Elizabeth (Grimm) Willis, in 1940.

Born 19 November 1893 at Bridgeport, Fairfield County, Connecticut.  Died 17 May 1983 (also seen: d. Feb 1983); interred Adams Rural Cemetery, Adams, Jefferson County, New York.

 

1900 US Census: No record found.

 

1910 US Census: Felix M. Ring, age 17 (b. CT) and employed as a salesman for a retail grocery store, resided in the household headed by his brother, John J. Ring, age 27 (b. CT) in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.

 

1917 WWI Draft Registration: Felix Michael Ring, age 23 (b. 19 Nov 1893 at Fairfield, CT), married and employed as a leather cutter for the Strouss Leather Company of 1117 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, designated Pyrites, St. Lawrence County, New York as his home.  He claimed an unspecified physical disability and a dependent wife.

 

1920 US Census: Felix M. Ring, age 26 (b. CT; parents b. CT) and employed as manager of a retail grocery, was heading a household at 111 McNaughin Street in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.  The household also included his wife, Ada Ring, age 24 (b. NYS; father b. NYS; mother b. English-speaking Canada); brother-in-law, James T. Allen, age 21 (b. NYS; father b. NYS; mother b. English-speaking Canada), married, and employed packing, etc. in the wholesale grocery industry; and sister-in-law, Lillian A. Allen, age 18 (b. NYS; father b. NYS; mother b. English-speaking Canada) and married. [No record of son, Frederick J., who was apparently born about 1919.]

 

1930 US Census: Felix M. Ring, age 36 (b. CT; parents b. Germany) and employed as superintendent of a chain grocery, was heading a household at 170 North Sprague Avenue in Bellevue Borough, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.  He married 1st at age 19, and his residence was valued at $9,000.  The household also included his wife, Ada M. Ring, age 34 (b. NYS; father b. NYS; mother b. English-speaking Canada), who married 1st at age 17; son, Frederick J. Ring, age 11 (b. PA; father b. CT; mother b. NYS); and son, Alan C. Ring, age 4 years and 11 months (b. PA; father b. PA; mother b. NYS).

 

1940 US Census: Felix M. Ring, age 46 (b. CT) and employed as keeper of a variety store, was heading a household at 28 South Main Street in the Village of Adams, Adams Township, Jefferson County, New York.  He had completed 2 years of high school, and his residence was valued at $2,500.  The household also included his wife, Ada M. Ring, age 44 (b. NYS), who had completed 2 years of high school; son, Frederick J. Ring, age 21 (b. PA), single, and employed as a clerk in a variety store, who had completed 2 years of college; and son Alan C. Ring, age 14 (b. PA), who had completed 8th grade.  On 1 April 1935 they resided in Auburn, Cayuga County, New York.

Born 1895; daughter of Frank Judson (b. Gouveneur, St. Lawrence Co., NY) and Ellen (Bogan) Allen (b. Brockville, Ontario, Canada).  Died 1973.  At age 17, while a resident of Natural Dam, New York, Ada Allen married Felix Ring, age 21 and employed as a papermaker at Natural Dam, New York, on 26 November 1912 (license issued same day) at Gouverneur, St. Lawrence County, New York.

 

1900 US Census: Frank J. Allen, age 40 (b. Jan 1860 in NYS; parents b. NYS) and employed as a farm laborer, was heading a household in the Village of Gouverneur, Gouverneur Township, St. Lawrence County, New York.  The household also included his wife of 17 years, Jennie Allen age 37 (b. Feb 1863 in French-speaking Canada; parents b. French-speaking Canada), who immigrated to the US in 1887 and had had 6 children, all still alive; daughter, Nora Allen, age 10 (b. Mar 1890 in NYS); daughter, Florence Allen, age 7 (b. Jan 1893 in NYS); daughter, Ada Allen, age 5 (b. Nov 1895 in NYS); and son, James Allen, age 2 (b. Dec 1898 in NYS).

 

1910 US Census: Frank Allen, age 52 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS) and employed as an engineer on a traction engine, was heading a household on Brarie Road in Gouverneur Township, St. Lawrence County, New York.  He had been married once.  The household also included his wife of 25 years, Jennie Allen, age 49 (b. English-speaking Canada; parents b. English-speaking Canada), who immigrated to the US in 1872, had been married once, and had had 6 children, all still alive; daughter, Grace Allen, age 24 (b. NYS), single, and employed as an attendant in a hospital; son-in-law, Carl Greenly, age 19 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS), who had been married once for less than a year; daughter, Nora Allen, age 20 (b. NYS), single, and employed as a nurse in a hospital; son-in-law, Herbert Bert, age 19 (b. NYS; parents b.
