US) and employed as a laborer, was heading a household in Plattsburgh Township, Clinton County, New York.  The household also included his wife, Amelia Robare, age 27 (b. US); Mary Robare, age 63 (b. Canada); son, Fred Robare, age 8 (b. US); daughter, Annie Robare, age 4 (b. US); and son, Herbert Robare, age 1 (b. US).

 

1900 US Census: No record found.

 

1910 US Census: Benjamin Robare, age 48 (b. NYS; parents b. Fr-speaking Canada) and employed as a farmer, was heading a household on Morrisonville Road in Plattsburgh Township, Jefferson County, New York.  The household also included his wife of 25 years, Amelia Robare, age 45 (b. NYS; parents b. Fr-speaking Canada), who had had 9 children, 8 of whom were still alive; son, Fred Robare, age 24 (b. NYS), single, and employed as a laborer; son, Herbert Robare, age 18 (b. NYS), single, and employed as a farm laborer on the home farm; daughter, Jennie Robare, age 13 (b. NYS); son, Frances Robare, age 11 (b. NYS); daughter, Edith Robare, age 8 (b. Born 11 October 1891 in Plattsburgh Township, Clinton County, New York.  Died February 1968 at Peru, Clinton County, New York.

 

1920 US Census: Herbert Robare, age 27 (b. Plattsburgh, NY; parents b. NYS) and employed as a laborer/jobber, was heading a household at Plattsburgh, Clinton County, New York.  The household also included his wife, Francis Robare, age 21 (b. Point Au Rock, NY; father b. Fr-speaking Canada; mother b. NYS); and son, Albert Robare, age 10 months (b. NYS).

 

1925 NYS Census: Herbert Robare, age 33, was heading a household in Schuyler Falls Township, Clinton County, New York.

 

1930 US Census: Herbert Robare, age 37 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS) and employed as a laborer doing odd jobs, was heading a household in the Village of Morrisonville, Schuyler Falls Township, Clinton County, New York.  He married 1st at age 25.  The household also included his wife, Frances Robare, age 31 (b. NYS; father b. Canada; mother b. NYS), who married 1st at age 18; son, Albert Robare, age 11 (b. NYS); and son, Donald Robare, age 9 (b. NYS).

 

1940 US Census: Herbert Robare, age 47 (b. NYS) and employed as a farm laborer, was heading a household at 10 Union Street in in Peru Township, Clinton County, New York.  He had completed 8th grade and resided in the same house in April 1935.  The household also included his wife, Frances Robare, age 42 (b. NYS), who had completed 1 year of high school; son, Albert Robare, age 21 (b. NYS) and employed as a farm laborer, who had completed 1 year of high school; son, Donald Robare, age 20 (b. NYS) and employed as a farm laborer, who had completed 8th grade; and son, Ronald Robare, age 6 (b. NYS).

Born about 1899, daughter of David and Olive (Rock) Gordon.  Died .  In 1977 resided at Plattsburgh, Clinton County, New York.  Married Herbert Robare on 16 October 1917 in Clinton County, New York.
