Born 16 November 1828 at Wurtemberg, Germany. Died . Immigrated to the United States in 1851 and initially settled in LeRay Township, Jefferson County, New York; later settled in Champion Township, Jefferson County. Veteran of the American Civil War; from Antwerp Township, Jefferson County enlisted in Company C, 10th New York Heavy Artillery Regiment; discharged 7 July 1865.

2. Wife: Rosina Kuppler

Born 23 February 1831 at Wurtemburg, Germany; daughter of John Martin Kuppler (b. 31 Jan 1812, d. 23 Jun 1833 at Genkingen, Wurtemberg, Germany). Died 6 February 1901; interred Great Bend, Champion Township, Jefferson County, New York.
