Born 1 May 1838/41 at St. Polycarpe, Vaudreuil Township, Vaudreuil-Soulanges County, Quebec, Canada. Died 8 September 1911 in Denmark Township, Lewis County, York State. Immigrated to the US from Canada, via Ogdensburg, New York, in 1863 and became a naturalized citizen of the US on 24 October 1885.

At age 23, while a resident of Rutland Township, Jefferson County, New York, Mabel LaVigne married (1st) Eugene Patterson (b. abt 1897), age 20 and also a resident of Rutland, son of Arthur (b.
