was heading a household in Westmoreland Township (Clinton Post Office), Oneida
County, New York. The household also
included his wife, Martha Thurston, age 19 (b. NYS); son, Charles Thurston, age
1 (b. NYS) Twin; and son, William Thurston, age 1 (b. NYS) Twin.
1875 NYS Census: Frank Thurston, age 30 (b. New York
City, New York) and employed as a moulder,
was heading a household in Whitestown Township, Oneida
County, New York. The household also
included his wife, Martha Thurston, age 24 (b. Oneida Co., NY); son, Charles
Thurston, age 6 (b. Oneida Co., NY); son, William Thurston, age 6 (b. Oneida
Co., NY); daughter, Carrie Thurston, age 4 (b. Oneida Co., NY); and son, Edgar
Thurston, age 4 months (b. Oneida Co., NY).

Born about 1851 in Oneida County, New York. Died .
1880 US Census: Martha Thurston, age 28 (b. NYS;
father birth not recorded; mother b. NYS), married, and employed as a dress
maker, was heading a household in Oriskany Township,
Oneida County, New York. The household
also included her son, Charley Thurston, age 11 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS) and
employed working on farm. Of possible
interest, the household headed by James Philpot, age 80, and James Steele, age
37, were enumerated before and after Martha's.

1. Biographical notes:
Born 4 February 1875 in Onieda
County, New York. Died 2 December 1921; interred New Forest
Cemetery, Utica, Oneida County, New York.
1880 US Census: Edgar Thurston, age 6 (b. NYS;
parents b. NYS) and Caroline Thurston, age 10 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS), resided
in the House of the Good Shepard orphanage/foster care
facility on Beaker Street in the City of Utica, Oneida County, New York. Both were in school. [The House of the Good Shepard was opened in 1873 in a single house in the City of
Utica as "a temporary and permanent shelter for the 'friendless, neglected
and destitute' ".]
1900 US Census: No record found; would be about 25
years old.
1910 US Census: Edgar D. Thurston, age 35 (b. NYS;
parents b. NYS) and employed as a conductor for a street car company, was
heading a household at 1418 Kelsey Avenue in the City of Toledo, Lucas County,
Ohio. He had been married once. The household also included his wife of 7
years, Laura V. Thurston, age 23 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS), who had been married
once and had had 4 children, all still alive; son, Kenneth W. Thurston, age 5
(b. NYS); son, Ralph D. Thurston, age 3 (b. NYS); and son, Leon V. Thurston,
age 6 months (b. OH).
1920 US Census: Edgar Thurston, age 45 (b. NYS;
parents b. NYS) and employed as a
chocolate dipper in a candy factory, was heading a household on French Road in
New Hartford Township, Oneida County, New York.
The household also included his wife, Laura V. Thurston, age 33 (b. NYS;
parents b. NYS) and employed as a helper in a knitting mill; son, Kenneth W. Thurston,
age 16 (b. NYS); son, Ralph Thurston, age 12 (b. NYS); and son, Leon Thurston,
age 10 (b. NYS).

interred New Forest Cem., Utica, Oneida Co., NY).
1930 US Census: Harold B. Washburn, age 36 (b. NYS;
parents b. NYS) and employed as manager of a filling station, was heading a
household at 1412 Mathews Avenue in the City of Utica. Oneida County, New
York. He married 1st at age 30. The household also included his wife, Laura
V. Washburn, age 42 (b. NYS; father b. Germany; mother b. US) and employed as
forelady in a clothing factory, who married 1st at age 35; stepson, Ralph D.
Thurston, age 22 (b. NYS; parents b. NYS), single, and employed as a finisher
in a furniture shop; and stepson, Leon V. Thurston, age 20 (b. OH; parents b.
NYS), single, and employed as a doofing in a knitting
mill.
1940 US Census: Harold Washburn, age 45 (b. NYS) and
employed as a bottlerag? worker in a brewery, was
heading a household at 1015 George Street in the City of Utica, Oneida County,
New York. He had completed 8th grade,
and his residence was valued at $3,400.
The household also included his wife, Laura Washburn, age 53 (b. NYS)
and employed as a pocket sewer in a clothing store, who had completed 4 years
of high school. They resided in the same
house on 1 April 1935.

of high school; daughter, Marilyn Thurston, age 8 (b. NYS); and son, Edgar
Thurston, age 1 (b. NYS). On 1 April

Avenue in the City of Utica, Oneida County, New York. He had completed 3 years of high school. The household also included his wife, Dorothy
Thurston, age 27 (b. NYS), who had completed 3 years of high school; and son,
David Thurston, age 1 (b. NYS). They
resided in the same house on 1 April 1935.

New York. He immigrated to the US in 1891, married 1st at age 31, and his residence was valued at
$5,000. The household also included his
wife, Mary H. Schultz, age 52 (b. Germany; parents b. Germany), who immigrated
to the US in 1893, and he married 1st at age 25; daughter, Helen B. Schultz,
age 25 (b. NYS), single, and employed as a typist in a court house; and
