1.  Biographical notes:

 

Born 8 January 1915 in Norwood Township, St. Lawrence County, New York.  Died 10 January 1951 at Tupper Lake, Franklin County, New York.  Was employed in the forestry (logging) business in the Adirondack Mountains of New York State and in the facility maintenance department at Mercy Hospital, Tupper Lake, Franklin County, New York.

 

1940 US Census: (enumerated 10 Apr 1940) George Russell, age 52 (b. French-speaking Canada) and employed as foreman in a wooden dish factory, was heading a household at 16 Michigan Avenue in the Village of Tupper Lake, Altamont Township, Franklin County, New York.  He had completed 3rd grade.  The household also included his wife, Marie Anne Russell, age 50 (b. French-speaking Canada), who had completed 3 years of high school; son-in-law, Carl Woodard, age 25 (b. NYS) and employed as millwright in a wooden dish factory, who had completed 6th grade; and daughter, Albertine Mary Anne Woodard, age 27 (b. French-speaking Canada) and employed as a practical nurse for a private family, who had completed 3 years of high school.  On 1 April 1935 George and his family resided in the same house; Carl resided at Dexter, Brownville Township, Jefferson County, New York.

 

2.  Wife: Albertine Marie Anne Russell

 

Born 27 March 1913 in New Brunswick, Canada; daughter of George and Marie Anne (?) Russell.  Died 28 May 1974 in New York; interred Saint Alphonsus Cemetery, Tupper Lake, Franklin County, New York.  French Canadian; originally from New Brunswick, Canada.  Daughter of Albert Russell.  Was employed as a nurse at Mercy Hospital, Tupper Lake, Franklin County, New York.

Born 1939; birth certificate documented birth name as John Joseph Rutski.  Adopted at more than 1 year old by Carl and Albertine (Russell) Woodard of Tupper Lake, Franklin County, New York (not with them on 10 April 1940, when the 1940 Census was enumerated).  Married, as her second husband, Cynthia Lou (Drake) Narrows, descendant #4.1 of generation 13 of the Descendants of Almond Henry Drake in 1988.
